For all those who wish to shop this week, your first stop should be blackfriday.info.

For the musicians out there, there's a compilation thread on KVR Audio of all the various online sound sources -- indie producers of VST and VSTi plugins, creators of loop and sample libraries, etc., etc.

Lotta good deals in both cases, many of them going on right now.

Any plans for Black Friday shopping? I intend to be nowhere near so much as a convenience store. (And, to those of you who must work a Black Friday retail outlet, I am so sorry. Many hugs, and I hope you at least have some fun.)

* On the 4:30 movie. Or 4:00 movie. (Shout-out to older S.E. MI fans.)

I would prefer to sit at home and avoid the insanity, but I work retail. So totally against my will I force to participate in Mammontide.

I just amended the post -- thanks for reminding me of that. Heck, my stepfather will be working it. (Thankfully not until 8:00 a.m.)

Is it legal to sell your parking spot? How about if you say you'll move your car for a fee?

No shopping plans for Friday. Tomorrow I do plan on going to Galena, IL and do some shopping for family and friends on my way home. (OK Galena isn't really on the way home. But instead of driving 2 hours back to my house, I'll drive 90 minutes to my parents' instead.)

Under no circumstances. I'm going to find a fried to have drinks with.

Actually, I lie. I might consider a Mac Mini, depending how good Apple's deals are.

I am working Friday, and I'm hoping that everyone is out shopping and won't be calling us about their bills. Then again, half the office will be out, so who knows.

Aside from trying to get through crazed-shopper-induced traffic, I will be very happy to *be* at work. I've been sick for the worse part of 2 months now. Yesterday I saw a different doctor, and I think she figured out what's going on. Hopefully my current set of horsepills (the 4th antibiotic in that same 2 month time frame) will do the trick.

As a former retail monkey myself, I don't like Black Friday...but my roomie's a HUGE BF shopper. So I indulge her and keep her smaller self from getting trampled...then we go to the pub. Fish and chips, her treat. :-)

I got my Hanukkah shopping done (domestic gifts) in early September and (international gifts) in late October, I will go nowhere near a shopping maul until mid-January unless I have to for my boss or unless it's an emergency.

That said, and if [livejournal.com profile] filkertom will forgive me for a totally shameless plug, allow me to remind everyone that there are small businesses you should support on Saturday, November 26 including, but not limited to, Southern Fried Filk.

Given that I'm gonna have a Black Friday sale myself, I definitely forgive you. :)

I should be on the road back from Mom's, barring anything unexpected.

No shopping's on the agenda, except some gas for the car. (It's 350 miles round-trip to Mom's, which is just a little more than one full tank...)

I plan to finish the online shopping I haven't gotten around to yet once my next paycheck hits, which should be the day after "Black Friday" actually.

...and I suppose I should wrap the stuff that's already arrived. ;-)

While I love how Manhattan feels on Black Friday, I am not much for shopping even when it's not the shopping season. And it's gotten a lot nuttier since I last visited the retail districts in the city. I suspect the joy of the day has become the madness of the sale.

Besides, a Friday off means time to clean the house!

No way. Gift cards (purchasable at the super market, where I have to go anyway) and internet shopping for me - much later in the month.

OT, how're you feeling?

Much better. The hip is still giving me little surprise twinges (and seemed ready to go completely for a few moments today, but I moved correctly and apparently cut that off), and my back isn't happy with me, but, yeah. :D

I take it you mean "cut that off" in a good way? Amputation is not the answer.

I'm not sure how I feel about gift cards. If it's for where they usually shop, that's great. If not (like say a restaurant or store they haven't been to) then the gift requires them to spend money or you loose money since they won't go back to finish off the $3.27 (or whatever) left on the card. Internet shopping and checks (or cash) work better because they can be used for anything.

No shopping at all. Sleep 'til noon, Skyrim 'til 2:30, and then load kitten and Kathi into the car and it's off to Chambanacon....

See you soon, Tom.

I'll be working (as usual), but since I work for a lovely little independent gift shop/gallery it's not going to be "Black Friday Madness".

I'll also throw in my two cents and remind folks about Small Business Saturday -- much as I hate to plug AmEx, if you do have an AmEx card, don't forget to register. You'll get a $25 credit for spending $25 or more in a shop that's participating.

I'm going to be at the in-laws' for the holiday, and then at Darkover. Computer stuff seems to have developed a "Cyber Monday" online tradition; I might find some good deals then.
