Greetings one and all! I've got an LJ, and I think this will do us just fine.

I had some forums on my web site for awhile, until some tech problems on my host's end took 'em all down. They were fun, but they didn't have the threaded nature of bulletin boards or UseNet, which did more-or-less what I wanted but were just plain ugly and confusing.

Enter LiveJournal.com. Yeah!

I think we will have a lot of fun here. I intend to mouth off a whole lot more here than at TSO, for the simple reason that that site is devoted more to the music and comedy. This is where I'm gonna keep my Snarlings, my Monsters from the Id. And, given the current political situation, I'm sure the monsters'll be out in force.

(In case you didn't know, I'm REAL damn liberal/progressive.)

We'll be getting to those before the end of the day Monday, I'm sure. Meantime, in the tradition of finer blogs everywhere, I declare this an Open Thread. C'mon in and say hi! I'm glad your here.

Your new website looks great and I eagerly wait to see it finished.
A small suggestion regarding lyrics - can you also create an alphabetized scroll-bar of all songs, including parodies?
It will help if you're looking for the lyrics of a specific song, but doesn't know in which album to look for it.

"All Songs" list is a great idea. That's EXACTLY the kind of thing I was looking for. I may not get to it until I finish the other menus, but that one I absolutely will. Thanks!

Without boring you with the minutia of the back end of LJ and how it all works, some quickies:

• Paid accounts get faster access (to more and newer servers) than free accounts; click here for more details
• Sometimes the email gets out before the journal-specific database for display gets updated, so seeing the email with the comment before the comment shows up in LJ is not unheard of
• You might investigate the news community for updates
