Growf.

I had a designated Open Thread up here yesterday. I put up a few links I thought all would find interesting.

The darn thing vanished, for no reason I can discern.

And apparently LJ has gone on Atkins and is eschewing cookies, because I've logged in at least half a dozen times in the past two days to let the system know that I should always stay logged in.

Open thread, gang.

Growf.

... And the moment I posted THIS thread, the lost Open Thread from yesterday reappeared.

What is, The Haunted Mansion?

There've been some database glitches the last few days -- I've seen a couple of people report, for example, that when they click on "previous 20 posts" in their friends pages, the display jumps backward to some random date in the past (a month ago, a year ago, that sort of thing). It always comes back, though.

It's probably been reported, and it's probably being worked on.

As [livejournal.com profile] janetmiles said, it's an intermittent database error. I didn't see anything on [livejournal.com profile] news about it, and it's not an open issue on the Support page.

eh??

What I want to know is how I missed the fact that you have a live journal?? And why it took [livejournal.com profile] huskiebear finding me before I found you. *pout*

BTW--don't you still owe me a phone call?

... the LJ is brand new -- as in, within the week. And I haven't called much because I didn't want to interrupt your move. :) How's that going?

The move goes well. So far. Topher's home (finally) and there isn't that much left to pack, mostly my books. The bad news is that I have a migraine that's threatening to start affecting my tummy at any moment. The rest of the details about the move are in my journal.

Calls won't interrupt the move until Saturday when we're actually loading the truck. Really.

Isn't it called a honeymoon because it's supposed to last a full month (while the mead lasts)?

...no, the next comment is just too cruel. All I gotta say, man, is you need to start working on your stamina. ;-)

Has anyone yet pointed you to http://status.livejournal.org/, by the way?

Well, aside from me just now, that is?

Just another sign saying "Otherland Is Currently Breaking Down" - nicely going together with all those e-mails which never reached the addressee.

Maybe LJ's installed a "Haze Newbie" module.

The best part is that if you e-mail LJ about it, you will probably get a message back advising: a) that they are aware of the problem and (may be) ; b) that you have done something wrong to cause it; and/or c) they are aware of a problem, but it's not the one you were talking about.

If, as many of you have suggested, it's a virus, the virus detection could not find it. I didn't realize until just now that that is apparently a big problem... but it may be solved:
