There are a few pundits I revere in these Dark Times. Molly Ivins. Paul Krugman. Bob Herbert. David Korn, Katrina vanden Heuvel, and Matt Bivens at The Nation.
And Jimmy Breslin.
Here are his thoughts on BushCo using images from the September 11th terrorist attacks in campaign ads (http://www.newsday.com/news/columnists/nyc-bres0306,0,5341970,print.column?coll=ny-news-columnists).
Looking for other stuff this morning, I found a site by singer-songwriter-webmaven Lisa Rein (http://www.lisarein.com/). Interesting stuff -- kinda like a rough Natalie Merchant (http://www.nataliemerchant.com/). Among other cool things, her site has an extensive archive of video clips (http://www.onlisareinsradar.com/archives/daily_show_interviews/index.php) from The Daily Show last year.
So, considering how well you're known in Midwestern and East Coast con circles, what do we need to do to spread your reputation to the Pacific Northwest?
Well, I was a guest at OryCon some years ago. Had an excellent time, too. It's more a matter of travel logistics than anything, e.g., how easily can you make it out for OVFF? The only odd-con commuters I know of who aren't actually full-time musicians are the Suttons (at least, I don't think Dave Clement is a full-timer, although he darn well should be), and even they are usually combining purposes such as family visits.
Hi, It's the gal from Ypsi High tuning you in again any way she can with a limited budget ::grin:: Darn good to have another avenue to "talk" with you. Hope to see you at Marcon, but since that's a week before Eleanor is due to arrive I'll probably have to wait until Conglom to show her, and the rest of my troops, off to you. Hugs!
Oh, lots of hugs to you as well, hon. Sorry if I'm not teribly verbose this morning -- I'm trying to finish a major web update around a migrane. I hope to have it done later this afternoon. Things okay after last week?
You absolutely may. Sorry re: legal. And re: migrane -- eh. Been gettin' 'em my whole life. If it hasn't got me flat on my back, I deal. Sometimes heavily medicated, but I deal.
