Great news. We're fighting the same battle in Ohio.

I've already signed up for truemajority.org, and signed their petition against using those same voting machines in Ohio. So far, I've received responses from three of the state senators on the committee. (Of course, the ones that disgree with the opinion of "not yet" haven't responded to me, and I'll bet my lunch that they're all Republicans.

Secretary of State Ken Blackwell has been the most outspoken proponent of those machines. Maybe when he runs for Governor in '06, there will be a glitch in the voting machinery, not have a paper recount available, and lose the election to one of the dairy goats at Young's Dairy.

And remember that Wally O'Dell, Chairman and CEO of Diebold and one of Dubya's $100,000 "Rangers", is committed "to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the President". Full story at blackboxvoting.com (http://www.blackboxvoting.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=166).

Here in Oregon, this is one battle we won't have to fight.

We vote by mail.
