Did anyone else see...?

Date: 2004-05-13 08:17 am (UTC)I liked that the cast wasn't all Hollywood pretties.
One irritation, as pointed out to me: where are Meg's glasses? Not having them makes Mrs. Who's specs no more than deus ex machina rather than a clever means of providing support from the ladies.
Looking forward to seeing it sans commercials at some point, though.

Looking the Other Way...
Date: 2004-05-13 09:28 am (UTC)On May 13th, 2004, the Howard Stern show was broadcasting live from the Hard Rock Hotel right here in Las Vegas. One feature of this particular day's program was the so-called "Karaoke Contest from Hell". During said contest, several representatives of godhatesfags.com were allowed to sing a parodied rendition of "Proud To Be An American".
It does not upset me that they were allowed to sing this song. After all, we are blessed by God to live in a country where we have, at least for the time being, the liberty to express whatever opinion we may possess, whether it is widely agreed to or not.
What DOES upset me is the knowledge that the same people who would lambaste me as being "un-patriotic", "un-American" and a "turncoat" for speaking out against the war in Iraq, a war in which I feel many young American men and women will senselessly lose their lives for nothing more then the benefit of a handful of rich elitists, will willingly and conveniently "look the other way" while a group of religious fanatics are performing on nationally-broadcast radio a song who's chorus included the lyrics "I'm Ashamed to be an American" and "Ain't no doubt about it, God hates the U.S.A."
