A terrible thing. Richard Biggs, who played Dr. Stephen Franklin on Babylon 5, died yesterday morning, apparently of either an aneurysm or a massive stroke. Our condolences go out to his family, his friends, his colleagues, and everyone in the B5 community.

Horrible news. I always loved Franklin, and found it quite amusing how much my current doctor reminds me of him - the two look a hell of a lot alike, and act similarly too - I always found it a great comfort.

May he rest in peace, and my best wishes go out to all who knew him.

That's really freaky. He was supposed to be at Motorcity Comicon but had to work. He was so young - and he exercised, and everything! Eek!

Condolences

Richard Biggs was another excellent actor gone too soon. He could quite easily have gone on to win some of the big awards in his profession, given the right opportunities. While we'll always have his work on B5 to enjoy, I'll always wonder where else he could have gone with the right script.

I know I'll join thousands of his other fans in missing him deeply.

Yeah this is pretty awful. Richard Biggs was a frequent, accessible and amiable guest at conventions. He really gave a lot back to the fans. He'll be missed.

Sad news indeed ... especially since not only was he a gifted actor, he was also a fellow Columbusite. JMS' announcement is here.

Well Damn!

He's gonna be missed around here too, Franklin was one of my fav's as a character. Brigg's was pretty outstanding in his other roles too, he brought a certain something to them.

What? Oh fuck. So young!
Saw him on two conventions - he was a spirited entertainer.

He and Jason were set to come to Indianapolis on the July 4th weekend for InConJunction, their second time at this con. Damn. He was eminently approachable, very personable, and truly an all-around professional.

He will be sorely missed.

I don't know if you've seen this tribute to him, using B5 clips, but you probably should. It's very nicely done. (Requires QuickTime.)
