dr_hermes, posting in scans_daily on InsaneJournal, links up to Keith "Kez" Wilson, who has created fantasy covers which make me want to stop everything I'm doing and start writing novels right now.

Which would you really like to see? I'm in for all of 'em. Just all of 'em. I tried to pick a few favorites, and suddenly I had more than half.

Oh, these were all brilliant! It's hard to pick just one favorite! Although I did like the one with the Rocketeer. And those two with the Doctor. And...oh, this could just go on and on!

How could it possibly get better than Doc and The Shadow vs. Fu Manchu (http://www.miscmayhemprods.com/doc/219_Doc-400.jpg)?

This is the one I want to read:

I remember when the original story came out, I was always thrilled to find the next part, which spread over 4 different series so was never easy to find.

WHO and The Rocketeer were my first two choices too... MY dad and I have a massive Doc Savage collection and with his passing I find myself re-reading them over the last few months. I love the mythos surrounding Doc and his Crew, and to see these written even as fan fiction would be the awesome... Go Tom Go, put that brilliant mind to work making us all remember a time when Breakneck was 70 mph, and no one could match the power of the repeater.

*shrieks with joy* This is the most awesome link ever...thanks for posting it!

ALL! ALL! ALL! I've been a huge Doc fan ever since my father handed me The Land of Terror when I was nine...I have every comic, every drawn magazine, every reissue...hell, I have some Doc stories in freakin' GERMAN, and I don't even speak German! :-) And the prize of my collection, several of the original pulps, including The Land of Always-Night in near pristine condition.

Though I have to admit, as a Godzilla fan as well, Tokyo Terror would be more than awesome...

I have fond memories of reading the Rocketeer story Doc appeared in. I distinctly remember reading the issue where two new characters showed up, following Cliff. Two hours later, as I was washing the dishes after dinner, I suddenly looked up and said, "Oh, hell!", because I had just that moment realized that the two guys were Monk and Ham.

I like these. Way too many on the same theme (Doc versus an old movie monster), but I admire the design work.

Doc Savage & Rocketeer

Heck, I'd be happy with just a second Rocketeer movie.

Of just a Doc Savage movie...

Instead of writing novels, how about a song about the book? A sing-a-long cliff notes? Something along the lines of the Moonwolf trap or something, with audience participation parts like:

Tom: And just as the lights go out and the lightning crashes and the wolves howl, Doc Savage jumps up and shouts "I know who the vampire is!"
Audience: And then?
Tom; And then Frankenstein's monster smashes through the door!
Audience: And then?
Tom: And then the wolfman comes crashing through the window!
Audience: And then?
Tom: And then the mummy rises up through a trapdoor in the floor!
Audience: And then? And then?
Tom: (hushed) and then Doc Savage rips open his shirt.
Audience: Aaaaaaiiiiiiieeeeeeee!
(cue banjo solo)

I'd buy tickets to see that performed ;-)

Let's see....

I'll take the Doc/Shadow two-parter, the Doc/Doctor Who novels, the King Kong and Godzilla ones, and throw in the Universal monsters for the end.
