Good Time Charley

Whew.

My Dad, down in Deltona (roughly an hour north of Orlando), had some minor damage around the house. My stepbrother Kai, about a mile away from him, had four trees go down, one across the neighbor's SUV and one onto the power lines. Apparently nobody has power, nor will they for a couple of days.

But they're all alive and unhurt. Which is all I really wanted.

From what I can see of my LJ Friends, nobody took any really bad hits from Hurricane Charley. Sound off, so we know you're okay, okay?

Hey, all.

We (dbcooper, argentee,rancourt, and myself) are in Tampa, which was the original destination for Charley. We were very fortunate that the storm hooked east and bypassed us entirely (passed very close to friends in Plant City, but they're accounted for and took very little damage). A little rain, that's all. We're all accounted for and fine, and sending good thoughts to our neighbors who took the hit.

I'm glad they're ok. I lived in coastal NC most of my life and there's nothing quite like a hurricane. I'm glad it was only power and minor stuff :)

Why couldn't Charley have hit Boca Raton, the spam capital of the world? Is it because there aren't enough trailer homes there?
