For those of us who support Kerry? (Or, for that matter, those who've decided for a "plague on both your houses" attitude) No, no more proof is needed. Then again, I had suspicions the minute I heard about it, and all *I* needed to know was that these guys were not, in fact, serving on the same boat with him. The evidence that has mounted up subsequently- the doctor who claims to have treated him is either a liar or dangerously lazy/incompetent/etc., the high-ranking guy who says Kerry shouldn't have gotten the medal was supporting him 8 years ago, and so on, has only confirmed my disgust.
The problem is, it's not me that has to be convinced. Nor is it the folks who would vote for a blind, leperous goat if it got Bush out of office. It's the swing voters. I *hope* that this is enough to chip a few more off that block and into our camp. Of course, I have almost no hope that this will get the republican base to realize what their candidate and his people are like, but...
When a twit like you starts defending [Microsoft] the question I always want to ask is "If they're not a pack of shits why do they bribe, threaten, steal and lie? Do you think it's some sort of hobby?" -- nagora on /.
It seems to me that if the SBV really had anything, they'd have come up with something substantial, not rumors and innuendo. See some of the Bush in 30 Seconds and MoveOn ads for examples. And as you pointed out elsewhere, why didn't any of this come out in 1971 and thereabouts?
Have you seen the pic of Rood and Kerry (in Vietnam) that's been in the news today? Kerry on the left, captured (I believe) rocket-grenade launcher over his shoulder, Rood on the right with his rifle, swift boats in the background. That's a photo that Bush'll never match, no matter how many flight suits he dons.
