NO, I CAN'T!!!

Bush Calls Iraq Invasion A "Catastrophic Success"

(On the lighter side, Pennsylvania Senatorial candidate Joe Hoeffel has a... well, an eating game for the Republican convention. In the name of Responsible Viewing, y'see.)

I'm having a hard time of it, especially given Hastert's offhand dismissal of 100,000 protesters yesterday as anarchists. Or this article on Salon about the guy who got Bush into the National Guard. But I can point it out here, just not on my own LJ.

Ohhh, Hastert's on my permanent shit list. This weekend, he smarmily insinuated George Soros got his money from drug cartels (http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/week_2004_08_29.php#003374").

I'll believe Hastert's insinuation only when Bush admits that he was high on cocaine when he crashed a National Guard jet and that he spent those unaccounted-for five months in an Alabama rehab center.

In otherwords: not very likely; but we really don't know, do we?

"Catastrophic success"

We beat Saddam, and we made a complete mess of winning. "Catastrophic success" sounds like a better summing up than I'd expect from Bush. Or at least it would if I thought he was using "catastrophic" correctly.
And with luck it's the final act of his tragedy (http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?catastrophic) too.
