You're gonna make me flounder around for a pun before I can flex my mussels, are you, you little shrimp? Or is that just a fluke? Should we continue these for the halibut, or is it getting too [orange] roughy for folks to follow? Are we the sole people enjoying this?

Not much, really -- I'm just waiting for Half-Life 2 (http://www.planethalflife.com/half-life2/).

That way, I can buy Valve.

Have there been enough nautical puns to tide us all over?

The goal of the above, of course, is to also avoid all of the puns in this particular classic. :)

Well, I'd be lion if I didn't admit the a-lure of the subject. You've got to have the brines and the right platy-tude to discus this, anemone-slappin' koi-nda guy. I hope you're not cowed by this (if so, you might be more gull-i-bull than I thought). If I anchor you with my barbs, I'll try to molly-fy you with some ori-gourami, or maybe we can go skate. Otherwise, whale indulge ourselves with Thum-Baleen-A or other Tales Man Was Not Manta Know. And, if you get sick, we can give you some Tetra-cycline.

But if you really, really get crabby, I'll be forced to play Sean "Puffer" Combs' cover of Peter Cay-briel's "Shark the Monkfish".

Dear gods, please do avoid them. [livejournal.com profile] warinbear, the lovely man to whom I am wed has been considering posting a challenge to alt.callahans: Write something that scans to Wet Dream, with as many nautical puns as you can manage, and without using any of the puns from the original.

-looks a few posts up with some embarrasment- His odious (sp?) personal habit appears to be contagious.

How about Kip Accoda's "Wet Dream" for the halibut?
