Damn. I was watching the whole video, and when I got to "the payoff", all of a sudden, I found a new respect for Eminem...that feels a little whacked, but it is, indeed, a very good video.
Can't run it on the computers at school, but I'll definitely check it out. I hate his personal stand on a lot of things, but damn, the man's talented. "Stan" had me in tears the first time I heard it, and the power and pain in "Lose Yourself" are so naked and real - sorry, I came over all music-reviewer-ish for a moment - that I was quite happy to see it win the Oscar. (It helped, too, that it was actually something used within the context of the movie, and not just something tacked onto the closing credits so the Academy didn't have to discontinue the category outright.)
Well, now that I'm over the shock... Damn good video! I even made sure to post it on my own journal. BTW, excellent show on Sunday and thanks for the picture!
Well this says one of two things. Either Eminem is not as bad as I thought or this president and administration are sooo bad that even someone like Eminem has to speak out about it.
Either way I give two thumbs up to mister Mathers. I only wish more "popular" artists would "be the voice"
... and it's actually well done from a visually striking approach. It encompasses the message that he's trying to say. "Dump Bush! Vote for 'someone else'". Why are popular music figures telling us what we should do? Haven't they covered moist of that by telling us what we should wear, what we should listen to, how to walk, talk and act like them? I mean, REALLY! Vote or DIE??! Thanks, P. Diddy, daddy, puffy or whatever. What ever happened to actually being able to think and choose? Now, it's going to be "happenin'" to vote for someone other than Bush. When will the public regain its intelligence and make their own choices? When will they be allowed to?
