Got the word yesterday from Oasis CD, got the tracking number from UPS. I will physically have the CDs tomorrow. So everybody should have 'em by the end of next week. Thanks for your patience, gang.

The pre-order MP3 download will end Sunday night, so if you haven't ordered yet, and you'd like the downloads ASAP, now would be the time.

Is Oasis worth dealing with? They seem really friggin' expensive, though I know they provide some nifty bonus services.

I'm seriously PO'd with Omnidisc...they're pretty cheap and did a fantastic job with FTASM but shorted me 150 CDs and still haven't refunded me for them 9 months later.

Feel free to answer me offline if you don't want to subject the rest of the world to this crap. Or ignore me entirely if you wish, though this may make cause me to weep.

I sent you an e-mail regarding the fiscal stuff. Regarding Oasis themselves... everybody there has been great to deal with. Nice, friendly, competent, efficient. We'll see what the final product is like, but they've got a hell of a client list. And they've treated me wonderfully.

Wow, how long did it take from the time they got the art and the check?

They physically got the art and the CD master disks on Oct. 15. I got the proofs back by e-mail on Oct. 20, and there were two fonts missing (actually on the disk, but in .zip format so they missed 'em) and a problem with some of the fonts that running it through some correction software fixed right up. The art was approved on Oct. 21, we gave 'em the deposit, and it shipped yesterday.

Dealing with the CD art by e-mail saved us at least a week.

I have so many CDs now that I've never listened to that I'd forgotten that CDs can also be used for music, not just backups for MP3s.

Oh, and artwork. And liner notes. And lyrics (albeit in a hard-to-search format).
