A good Sunday to you all! Two bits of coolness. First, it looks as if I'm going to be on Dr. Demento's Demento Society Basement Tapes #13 for next year! The Doc wants "Talk Like A Pirate Day" on there, to which I said "Yippee! Wahoo! Yay!"

Second, I also said "Yippee! Wahoo! Yay!" to The Incredibles. If you haven't seen it yet, that would be a fantastic way to spend a couple hours. Damn, Pixar can do no wrong.

Apart from that, open thread. Have fun, play nice.

The Incredibles

Oh Yeah, Baby. The movie completely, 100% ROCKED!

A day later, I'm still reveling in it. The look and feel is amazing. The storytelling is fantastic. I was very impressed by the voice acting cause it doesn't sounds like voice acting (if that makes sense).

I love the layout work, the mid-century architecture and decors, the cars that almost remind you of something real.

And the physicallity of the Super Hero action, best ever. Watching Elasti-Girl ooze and shoot about was amazing.

Oh, and a tech thing, the eyes. Most CG films suffer from bad eyes, lifeless. But they've worked hard on it, looking much better

I can't wait to see it again.

Caught The Incredibles Myself, and I was really blown away. I have to declare it a virtually flawless film. It had all it need to make it work, very little fat, it aimed, it fired, and it hit home.

Congratulations on the Demento appearance!

I want to see The Incredibles. Maybe next week on Dale's day off.

I'm not so sure about the prequel....jacalope. :)

Otherwise, it occasionally reminded me of Champions games I've been in :)

Oh, I dunno, I thought "Bounding" was kind of charming, myself

I always wanted to get into a Champions campaign, but that's unlikely, as I seem to have suddenly become "persona non grata" in my local gaming community...

Jesus, ya make one tiny, little, off-hand comment about a bunch of bulbous, hairy, basement-dwelling PLUSH-HUMPERS and suddenly you're a PARIAH!

I understand. We were in a group in NC and my husband wrote a note (he was mad) to one person and we were no longer included in any of their games., As far as I know, she still hasn't forgiven him.

:)

Good luck finding more gamers - try game stores, if you have them

vote fraud

Tom,

After I read your Nov. 3 post suggesting that vote fraud may have occurred, I checked exit polls for Ohio and Florida, and I saw that they exactly matched the official vote percentages. This satisfied me that no vote fraud had occurred in these states.

Today, I read this Yahoo! News article about Karl Rove, and one sentence leapt out at me:

"Exit polls were adjusted to reflect official vote tallies."

Repeat after me: The media are controlled by the Bad Guys. They tell us what they want us to know. They cannot be trusted to do anything besides lull us into complacency.

You are Elmer J. Fudd, millionaire. You own a mansion and a yacht.

Wait, am I supposed to repeat this part or do you really think I'm Elmer Fudd?

What, ya never saw that cartoon (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0048148/)? Elmer was in a psychiatric ward, believing he was a rabbit. Bugs got hypnotized into believing he was Elmer. After some wild role-reversal, Bugs got dragged off for tax evasion, blaming "that swrewy wabbit". Elmer looks at the audience and says, "I may be a screwy rabbit... but I'm not going to Alcatwaz".

Dan and I caught the movie yesterday. What great fun. I loved every minute of it. A little foreshadowing with the cape thing was the only real "tell" for me.

The powers of the family wreaked a bit of Fantastic Four. That is the only bad thing I can even come close to saying.

See it again and again for the little jokes that were missed the first time.

That is great news!!! I renew my subscription for that reason ONLY. (To get the CDs.) It means I really need to add a 2nd one to the filk list I have... (I got organized once and typed into my computer a list of all filk tapes I own... I think its over 370 items and growing.... Its up by 2-3 this weekend via trades. (Only original tapes/CD/records make the list.))

It was good. I took my sister to see it today and we both enjoyed it.... One question... Did your theatre have the new Star Wars trailer attached to the movie? Mine did NOT.

Yes, actually, we did. In case you haven't seen it, there are lots of places on the web to catch it now, particularly here (http://www.fileshack.com/file.x?fid=5778).

Yippee, wahoo and yay on both counts! Great news on the Dr. D disc, and we went to see The Incredibles on Friday last ... yea, verily, it doth rock!

I am convinced that the initial killer robot was animated with a little stutter to make it a little reminiscent of Harryhausen. Did anyone else notice that, or do I just need new glasses?

Pixar might not have topped themselves, but it's another highly worthy entry into a huge pile of great works.
