It should be noted that a draft bill just came up for a vote in the US house, it went down by 400-something to 4 or so. The truth is the only reason the house voted on it was to kill the draft rumors. It appears that the US house does not want a draft, and I don't think the folks in the pentagon want one. So it appears that its not going to happen anytime soon.

Of course I live in a country with a draft, I'm only not being drafted as I am too old.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the draft bill that got thrown out wasn't a bill to start the draft. It was one that removed all exceptions and deferrals from any potential future draft...

thanks for the link. i'm medically exempt from conscription, as i'm insulin-dependent, but i have a whole lot of friends who are healthy enough for the military's purposes, and if i lose a one of them because the draft gets reinstated, there's gonna be hell to pay. i know it's not a concern at present, but i'm not too sure what that chimp-faced idiot is capable of any more.
