Not gonna look, nopenopenope ... I'm holding out for the Whole Damned Trilogy extended edition... at which point I'll probably have to take vacation time to watch every juicy bit of it!

We're getting the Whole Damned Trilogy extended edition because the dog ate (well, badly scratched) our extended Two Towers, and if we replacing that and getting RofK, we might as well get the whole set and have a FofR spare.

Oh, yeah . . .we wants it NOW, my precioussssss.

There are some scenes there I was really missing from the story, and this'll take care of that.

Now if I can just win the lottery to get that big-screen TV before it comes out. . . can you imagine an all-day viewing of all three extended editions?

[sigh]

That's my plan anyway. Lotta popcorn, phone off the hook, plop in front of computer w/surround sound, let 'er rip.

They know their audience, don't they?

I'm not sure if I'm going to like all of the additions. Most of them, I'll wager, I'll be glad enough to see..... ;-)

Well, I've gotten over not having the Scouring of the Shire. And I'm really looking forward to all the scenes they indicate in the trailer -- especially the Eowyn/Faramir romance, the Mouth of Sauron, and of course Saruman. I do hope they remember to put sketches of Christopher Lee and Brad Dourif in the end credits, as they did with everyone else. It's unfortunately the kind of thing someone might overlook.

Spoilers? In LOTR?

Like we all haven't memorized it, the Silmarillion, and various parts of Chris Tolkien's books. :-)

Mostly. But there actually are some people who haven't had that delight -- and, dare we believe it, some people who find the movies more accessible than the books, and (gasp) haven't read them.

Most of all, though, there are some people who want to be surprised (and, I suspect, on some level outraged) by what PJ puts and doesn't put into the extended edition.
