Big Clarke fan here. In fact, my first [and to date only] published fiction was titled "Indistinguishable from Magic" [Fantasy Book, March 1985].

Reading Clarke's fiction inspired me to become a scientist. I knew by the time I was 14 or 15 that I wanted to be a scientist and writer like him (I'm still working on the writer part). I own a copy of almost every piece of fiction he's published.

I need to print out Clarke's First Law and post it in my cube at work as a reminder.

When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong.
