And so we come to the end of 2004. (Thank Goodness, some might say.) Hugs to all of you, and I hope you have a safe and fun weekend and a pleasant and prosperous 2005.

I know I'm going to start a few things. The exercise has got to happen, for simple health reasons. I intend to produce at least two downloadable albums by MarCon (although I have plans for up to six for the year, I suddenly realized) and possibly another CD, and I also intend to get a good deal more exposure on web and, if I can help it, mainstream radio. The web site will get a thorough overhaul in the next two months, and I'm gonna start pruning my book and tchotchke collection on eBay, so I've got a chance of moving in this box-lined cave passing itself off as my apartment.

What are your hopes and plans for the new year?

Paying off my debts. My credit got ruined during my marriage and I'm spending '05 paying it all off.

Still working through my midlife crisis. Hoping to travel somewhere interesting (possibility of Ghent in September). Hoping my mother's health remains good. Rejoicing in the fact that Dan is out of school.

May we all have better fortune in the coming year.

  1. Completing my divorce.
  2. Remarrying.
  3. Paying off at one dead credit-card (I have two, ruined by my soon-to-be ex).
  4. Completing my first NaNoWriMo novel (50,000 words was just the beginning).
  5. Participating in/winning NaNoWriMo again.
  6. Exercising/dieting (lost 20 lbs on Atkins, but there's more room for improvement).
  7. Spending more quality time with good friends, and pruning out pseudo-friends.
I think that's a reasonable list. ;)

1) Finish my CD! ( I recorded 12 tracks of it a week and a half ago.)
2) Lose some weight. 5-10 lbs.
3) Bug UAH some more, see if I want to be adjunct faculty there too.
4) Practice a bunch with T. and B. so we can develop a playlist for a ne CD.
5) Call long distance friends more.
6) Get back into karate, this time with my son too. He's old enough.
7) Start spending responsibly now that we finally have an accurate financial picture after our move.
8) Start writing songs again, and polish the ones I wrote (and then tabled) during 2004.
9) Get level 3 certification in yogafit.
10) And other things (those were just the first impulses I have. This bears thinking upon.)

I don't have my own thoughts that well organized yet. This past year has been one of Family Health Concerns, most of which are carrying-over into 2005. Just reacting to new developments there will keep me pretty busy.

I'll be at GaFilk next weekend, then not another truly fannish event until summer-sometime (and not yet specifically planned). I'm going to be involved with the Arkansas Literary Festival (second edition) this coming April, attempting to raise the profile of the fantasy & science fiction community in this part of the country.

I've signed-on to be the secretary of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League chapter at my church, which will give me an excuse to build the group a website.

Other than that, I'll just try to keep my knees from hurting too much.

To remember more often to add a little joy to the world.

And to write more music. Which is sort of a subset of #1, really. At least, I hope it is. :)

Ah. A replay of the resolutions you've kept so well in previous years, I see.

Happy happy.

Find a new job. Have serverance pay until July, should be plenty of time since I'm willing to move. Actually less stressful than wondering if/when I'll get laid off.

I only hope that 2005 won't be known as;

The Year they adopted the Patriot Act
The Year they re-instated the draft
The year they added the "sanctity of marriage" ammendment

or

The year World War 3 began

hopes and plans? get a kickass score on the GRE, get into the MFA creative writing program at iu bloomington, nab a fellowship or scholarship that will cover the approximately 6-7 grand that the assistantship doesn't cover (primarily housing), get my HBA1C (diabetic stuff) under control, lower my cholesterol, thin out my collection of Useless Crap that i've accumulated over the past 22.5 years of living, and maybe actually finish a plot line for one of the several books i'm working on writing. also, a friend of mine wants to team up with me to write a new practical guide to witchly life, including soapmaking and other nifty crafty stuff as well as the more philisophical Crafty stuff, and form our own publishing company so we can have our book JUST the way we want it. Two Witches Binding Company or something similar. oh. and i want to survive my last semester at UofL with minimum drama and stress, but we all know that's a pipe dream.
good luck on all your planned projects, and happy new year!
