John Vernon Passes Away

John Vernon has died at the age of 72. You know him best as Dean Wormer in National Lampoon's Animal House. He also was the voice of Rupert Thorne in the animated Batman, Iron Man and Sub-Mariner in the 1960s Marvel Superheroes cartoons, and a whole bunch of other stuff. Good actor, great voice. He'll be missed.

(shakes head and clicks tongue) Too bad. I always get a mixed-up feeling when a voice-actor dies. One ONE hand, it's always sad and a shame to see one of your own go... On the OTHER hand, it DOES mean there's ONE less competitor to worry about! <:) Oh, come ON! Hey, we should ALL be so lucky to leave behind a body of work like his! Happy trails, John!

It's sad. It seems like a lot of celebrities and other famous people have been dying the past 5 years. I'm wondering if it's because their careers happened to coincide with the era of mass media in the mid-twentieth century, or if perhaps the 21st century is just not very welcoming.
