I'm gonna have to go over everything with a fine-toothed comb later tonight because I know some links to lyrics are screwed up, and I need to finish recording something, but... TSO's back online.

Actually, I'm talking about all the flash that's your navigation in the main site. Looks like a couple of images could replace each of them if the flash is only to make it highlight when you hover over the top. If that's all I'll be happy to give you whatever i can to make that happen ;)

Trust me, the people with screen readers and other browsers that loath flash will thank you for it.

I said this the last time I updated the site: I like Flash. Many sites use Flash. I try to be polite about it, and it makes several things much, much easier.

That's why I also put the text links at the bottom, for those who don't like Flash. I have worked hard to make it work for everybody.

I can certainly do the site without Flash. I choose not to.

Some editorial commentary:

• If you (Mac) Command-click a link in the header to open the page in a new tab/window (depending on browser settings), it doesn't: it opens on the same page. If you Command-click the same link in the text footer, it correctly opens in a new tab/window. This is confusing.
• On lyrics.htm, in both the ATSIGT album and the All Songs lists, "Talk Like a Pirate Day" gets 404.
• I wish that the songs from 24 Hour Project were available on the lists as their own titles, instead of having to remember that "Wok Like Any Gypped Chen" and "Badger Pajama" and "Spam in the Street" (etc.) were on that "album."
• On the Kewl Links page, in Music - Artists, the text of www.capsteps.com is "Capital Steps" but should be "Capitol Steps."
• Nice to finally see the Press Kit. (Didn't I mention that when TSO first debuted? :-) )
• Speaking of the Press Kit, in the Web Sites section of artist_info.htm, do you want to make the site names links to those sites (with a _TARGET="NEW" perhaps)?
• And on the Audio and Set List pages of the Press Kit (audio.htm and set_list.htm), none of the songs are links. Should they be? (I'd say Yes, but that's me.)
• You left out your being Filk GOH at Arisia'04 (Jan) on honors.htm. I can speak to that omission, 'cause I was there.
• While testing (around 5pm Eastern), I got a lot of timeouts, connections refused, and too-slow-you-lose pageloads. If you weren't doing maintenance around then, you should probably look into that.

Much obliged. Several points you name, especially links, will be updated later this evening. I will put the 24-hour Project lyrics on their own pages, and get the audio links into the press kit. And, yes, about 4:30-5:00 was when I was uploading.

A few more:

• /main.htm (the old main page) has a "click here" text that's not a link. Oops. Should probably point to /main1.htm instead.


• Both SmithTunes and e-Greetings are only available on the main1.htm page, there're no links to them on the every-page flash header or text footer.


• The e-Greetings page doesn't seem to have "Tom Smith Online" (link back to the home page) in the header.


• On the /sendcard/sendcard.php page, the "Powered by SendCard" image is broken.
