Only one for me: WisCon (http://www.sf3.org/wiscon/index.html)! (Did I mention that this past WorldCon was my first con ever, and now I find myself looking for excuses to attend others? :))
Looks like I'm not going to make it out to Penguicon after all, which is making me sad. My daughter has her Girl Scout Junior Aide badge workshop that Saturday, my niece has her wedding shower that Saturday, and I really can't afford a hotel for the whole weekend anyway. We were just going to go Saturday, and now all this other stuff has come up.
Probably none of them. We're possibly going to spend a day at Dragon*con, since it's local, come September. There's a non-zero but very small chance we'll make it to the East Coast Filk con, and of course we'll be at OVFF in the fall.
Unfortunately, I had to cancel my attendance at Millennicon yesterday because of my father-in-law's health.
I'll be at OdysseyCon for a day, the Nebula Weekend (which I'm running), possibly 2BeContinued, one day of Wiscon, Picnicon, and I'm running programming at Windycon. That might be it for the rest of the year.
None. I was thinking of attending AggieCon (at Texas A&M) and ApolloCon (right here in Houston), but the budget just doesn't have room for those if I want to be able to afford my big 3 (GenCon, Dragon*Con, & GenCon SoCal) later this year.
How can I manage to miss yet ANOTHER Millenicon, and I'm here in Cinci! Thanks to recent changes in our health insurance (read as "education professionals make too much money, so lets make them pay 50% of all of their healthcare"-grrr!) we're a bit too shy on funds to make it this year. Ah, well...there's always MarCon, but doubtful...
Well, after $200 in drugs, I kinda would like to eat for the next few weeks, and $20 goes a looong way for lunches. And my days of gophering are long over. I made it to Chairman for a now-defunct con in Virginia in my day--I'm now resigned to ENJOYING conventions rather than work on them. :)
Well, I'd better be at Millennicon, yah? Considering I run the artshow. (Shameless plug)
Going to Disneyworld @_@ the next weekend. With two screaming children and two sets of psychotic grandparents. My sanity points are going down the tubes, I just know it.
I'm starting work on the next CD so I'm sitting out on cons till at least June when I will be at Duckon. If I get all the basic tracks done before I might get to 2BC but it dosn't look likely.
So all on the schedule for the rest of the year at the moment are
Duckon Convergence Demicon Windycon
After last years 12 cons in 12 months, I need to be more sensible.
just marcon and conglom (tho conglom technically counts as summer, i suppose). i'm also going home to upstate new york for a ren faire and seeing family and friends. not technically a con, but enough of the seasonal cast at the sterling faire would definitely miss me if i no-showed. between trying to graduate, my finances, and attempting grad school, i can't really afford to go to more fen events at this stage of the game. heehee, tho if i get into my grad school of choice and actually become a published writer, i can consider conventions to be a business expense. :-) *plot plot plot*
LunaCon this weekend... and MarCon at the end of May. :)
A good friend of mine (whom I haven't seen in over 5 years!) has talked me into going out for MarCon this year, and given that you are going to be there.. it made the decision to go even easier. ;) He and I have a "date" for your show at MarCon.
Oh, cool, it looks like I'll get to see you at both Millennicon AND 2BCon! And of course Marcon, wouldn't miss it for anything, especially since I'm playing Buffy in the Buffy Sing-Along again.
I'm also tentatively planning on MidSouth Con maybe OdysseyCon (just to see Lois Bujold, she doesn't come to Ohio any more) ConCarolinas ConGlomeration OVFF
Next con for me is PenguiCon, which my guy happens to be the chairman of. :) I'm booking my flight on Thursday. *bounces*
Then I'm going to Leprecon (http://www.leprecon.org/lep31/lep_31_001.htm) about two weeks after Peng, and my guy is dragging his friends to MarCon (http://www.marcon.org/) on Memorial Day weekend.
Good season for cons. It's getting to the point where I ask for a weekend off, and they say "Michigan or con?"
NEXT year maybe we'll be back to congoing. But for now, working as a temp on weekends precludes all but the stingiest of time-off and expenses doubling each other.
Come have fun with us in June; it's going to be a blast!
If all goes to plan and I recover quickly enough from minor surgery next week. My spring list is: FKO (http://www.filkontario.ca/index.htm) After that - PenguiCon (http://www.penguicon.org/) which is a working con for me - stop by green room and say hi! and last but certainly not least - Marcon (http://http://www.marcon.org/)
Those are the planned ones so far. I have a few others that I'm hoping for but will have to see how the travel budget stretches.
Lunacon this weekend (Art show staff and on a filk panel) and then at I-CON (NY) in a few weeks. Beyond that, I hope to catch Contata (Whatever the East Coast filk con is called) this year.
I'll be at MillenniCon on Saturday for your show and Luke's. I mean, I work up the street, for pity's sake. I can't /not/ show. :)
Hmmm... open filking. Uh. Um. I might have to. Yes, my precious. Filk may have to be premiered. It's way too late to tweak it for MillenniCon, but if I preface it with a comment or two, ask who's going to Dragon*Con, then it might work.

Can't do MarCon...already accepted an invite from Balticon. That looks like it for me until the monster Summer cons like SDCC and Dragon*Con.

I would have looved to to to Penguicon, but its just to much after I splurged on a real vacation in February.
