Years ago, I was a guest at FilkOntario. I had a lovely time, and I've wanted to get back up there ever since. But my stupid day job wouldn't let me.

I don't seem to have that problem this year. :) And I've got new, reliable wheels, and I'm going to Ad Astra the following weekend anyway, and so... what the hey. I'm goin'!

So who all's gonna be there?

Diana and I are 99% sure we'll be at Ad Astra, helping out in the Art Show.

Tom, on a different note...have you seen this article?

:-)

I will not be at Ad Astra...I just got back from a vacation to the Kalahari in the Dells, and the House on the Rock...my vacation time needs to, um, re-accumulate. :-P Maybe a con later in the year.

The House On The Rock is quite an experience. We went there 2 years ago.

I can't wait to go back, and I was just there last Friday. :-) Now I find I must buy the book, I want to purchase the DVDs sometime...and I must get some of the pictures online.

Must find a way to thank Neil Gaiman for the inspiration to go there.

We are not, alas, as money isn't allowing this year. *sigh*
and thus I decided to take a crash course in Real Estate this weekend...

It just dawned on me that I have no clue what your day job is, or is it a secret?

Right now? Professional independent musician. I.E., unemployed. After I got laid off from my mortgage-industry support job last year, I tried to find something in Help Desk or Tech Support, but it was impossible. And, after awhile, I realized I was just barely paying the bills with music. So, I'm trying to run with it.

I hope it works for you.

I also have joined the ranks of the unemployed, again. Just finished a year long contract @MicroSoft, and by the rules can't get another contract there for 100 days, so it is job searching and unemployment for 3 months unless I get a good bite on the ol' resume.

I thought you might be in the tech sector, and then had a thought that with your musical talent you might be in the jingle biz, until I realized your music had too much soul.

Hoorah!

I'll be there, unless I experience spontaneous human combustion or something similar before then. The way my life is going right now it wouldn't surprise me.

Yay! For what it's worth, I'll be there (Nietzsche's and FKO). You probably won't remember, but I'm the one who interviewed you via e-mail a couple years ago for an article on filk to be published in a magazine that promptly tanked immediately prior to the edition in question. (Sigh.) Discovered your LJ through one of the filk communities -- about half of filkdom seems to be on LJ. I'm a bit of a fledgling filker myself, and may fledge once or twice this weekend.
