Sorry I haven't posted much in the past few days, but it's been busy. Finally getting rid of the Ford Tempo, finishing up a commission, tech support for my dad... the upshot of which is, the 24 Hour Project 2 will not be ready for this weekend at PenguiCon in Novi, MI.

It will be ready soon, though. I like it too much, and I think it's too good to delay on. I'll do a few of the songs at the con, and then full-bore back at the arrangements. And, if I can help it, I'll still have time to finish Sounds Familiar for MarCon in Columbus. We'll see.

On other fronts, it looks as if I'll be at Archon in (well, near) St. Louis at the end of September, the weekend before ConClave in East Lansing.

And how is your week going?

Doing okay. My Opera referrals are slowly climbing. :) Online classes are ending, then I have to register for spring classes. Can't go to Penguicon, too many pressing baby and house issues. My daughter is registered for summer camp, her mom is moving to Delaware, OH.

Glad to hear that the Tempo is going bye bye. When I heard that you still had it, Princess Leia ran through my head: "You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought." :)

One must be brave to own a Tempo. (Speaking from experience here.) The one I owned years back did everything in it's power to either kill me or drive me completely nuts. That it was nicknamed "Deerkiller" by my friends probably says quite a bit.

Huh. I owned mine for a decade (1990 model, bought June 1990, sold September 2000), and other than a failed AC compressor the second summer in Dallas and some engine trouble towards the end of its life, it behaved pretty well.

Busy, but successful week... Got a CD cleaned up for an east coast filker... I am playing with Adobe Audition (Cool Edit 2000 Pro successor). Source material was from 8 different audio tapes, most of which were released on Dictation Grade tapes, 20 years ago....

Sound engineering is a fun hobby to play with.... That CD was a great project to learn on and it came out much better than I expected.

Now to get onto other projects that are on the priority finish list... (Computer conversion, typing more stuff up for ebay, cleaning my room... Hmm.. I think I might have to do the last because I am not sure if there is a floor in their anymore..)

Indeed re: sound engineering. That's been one of the best and most fun parts of the past year-and-a-half -- the sensation that I'm really beginning, just beginning, mind you, to get the hang o' this....

You're going to be at MarCon? Coolness! My friend invited me to stay at her place so I could go with her... I'll definitely be looking for you!

Heh. I'm the Filk GOH. Oh, yeah, I'm gonna be at MarCon, and with at least one new album (on CD-R). As mentioned at the top, I'm shootin' for two.

I'm glad to hear that there is progress happening in your world.. and that the time away hasn't been for naught.
My week is trudging along at a fairly slow pace. Although the sun is making things a bit more tolerable. :) (Of course, there will be rain for any of the times that I will be able to work on my car. *growlz*)

Question for you (and I know that this may be my high expectations of you), but do you happen to know when your shows are at MarCon?

Not sure of the precise times, but I'll be doing one or two songs at the Opening Ceremonies Friday evening, possibly a songwriting panel for the Teen track Saturday morning, a concert in the ballroom Saturday afternoon, and hosting an hour of the Open Filk Saturday night. I also hope to have a room party Friday, and I'll be singin' there. :)

That gives me close enough approximations to figure everything out for the weekend! :) Thank you!

Now I can just hope to catch a couple of my favourites by you... :)

I'll see you in a touch over a month! :)

well, i finished three of my four classes today, plus turned in a paper that was at least 3/4 bull. i've got one more final, a week from today, in medieval culture. tomorrow i've got my follow-up visit for my new insulin pump, and i get to go learn how to use the stupidly complicated sewing machine i got for my birthday so MAYBE i can make my gypsy costume in time for marcon. on the upside, i get to sleep sometime soon. i miss sleep.
