Chris Candido Dies

A shocker for the wrestling community: Chris Candido, formerly of The Body Donnas in WWF and a major name in ECW and independent wrestling, died suddenly yesterday. Reports vary as to his age, either 33 or 35. He broke his ankle during a match last week, and apparently suffered a blood clot as a complication from the surgery.

Wow. I can't say I was a fan of him (or Tammy). They always annoyed the heck out of me, but it is amazing and sad that someone in such good physical condition could just go like that. I guess when its time, its time. Wrestling seems to be plagued with young deaths.

I think it would be in very good taste to dedicate the upcoming "ECW: One Night Stand" to Chris' memory.

Excellent thought, and I bet they at least mention him. As an aside, RVD says he believes he will be healthy enough to wrestle on that show after all, which is only fitting since the whole PPV was his idea.

WWE felt they were stale, and they needed a vacation, so they got some time off. I think there was some healing up in there too. I'm assuming that the ECW PPV will be a relaunch for several people.

Candido was at the TNA TV Taping earlier this week, and even appeared on camera.

However, becasue of this, TNA pulled the episode and aired a repeat of last week's show. I only assume out of respect.

Let's hope Candido was able to fix his life enough to earn a place in the big ring in the sky. My condolences to Tammy.
