Will you still love me if I tell you I found it an utterly forgettable film?

Of course. It's a matter of taste, as it is with any film. This is one of those that either you get or you shake your head in confusion at. I'm in the former group.

Oh, I wouldn't say I shake my head at in confusion. It wasn't a particularly confusing film. Just wasn't a very GOOD one ;)

So bad that it became good for being bad. :)

In a world with Oliver & Company, Titan A.E., and Rock-A-Doodle?

In order:
a) Bad, but not nearly bad as some.
b) Another in my view that was so bad it became good.
c) Okay, your point.

Gah. That looks... peculiar. Pity it's not on Netflix.

I once had a t-shirt custom made to say "I Survived the MOK Concert"!

Bah! It's no Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (the movie, not the album.) :)

For which I feel we can all be extremely grateful. Oy, what a stinkbomb.

Well, it did have Aerosmith doing that classic cover of Come Together, which forgives many of the movie's sins.

Almost.

I will definitely give it that one. I could make a case for a few other bright moments, such as the soft and lovely arrangement of "Oh, Darlin'" and Sandy Farina breathing and such. But not a whole lot else.

I don't remember crap about the movie, other than loving Debbie Harry's big finale song.

Yay!!

Yes! The theater I did Rocky Horror back then in ran Rock and Rule as one of the alternate midnight films in the second theater (along with standards like The Song Reamins the Same, Quadrophenia, and A Clockwork Orange.)

Really liked it, way back when. Have to scrape the pennies together for the DVD.

"Cinderella knows what you're talkin' bout, doll..."
This is one movie that I absolutely fell in love with when it aired on HBO back in...oh..I think 1986...and then only as a 2am filler movie. Nelvana's animation was always a cut above back in the 80's, and considering the technology of the day, what they managed to churn out was incredible, and definitely not the "Disney" norm.
I'm definitely looking hard at the piggy bank contemplating a suitable application of a hammer...
