That rather caught my eye as well. I can only assume he'll just be voicing a CGI cahracter, not wearing a blue furry suit...

The article says they're going with a suit.

Yeah, that was my thought. Gramer's "Sideshow Bob" voice would lend itself perfectly to Beast, but I can't imagine Gramer as the body. Beast is too well built and too athletic.

As I recall, they intended to put the Beast into the first two X-men as a CGI character. Budget limitations forced them to nix the idea.

I think they could probably do Beast realistically with Gramer in a body suit (think of the gorillas in Congo and Gorilla's in the mist) and make-up for close in work, and as a CGI character for the really acrobatic, gravity defying scenes.

Even if he does the voice of a totally CGI character though, I think its a good casting choice.

Grammer's voice will be great for Beast, but what was wrong with Steve Bacic?

I was wondering that myself.

It won't be the first time they have used different actors for the same role between movies...Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat was played in the first movie by Sumela Kay, and in X2 by Katie Stuart.

He does not necessarily have to be the Blue Beast, they might go with the look from the very first X-Men comic, very nearly human looking. I do expect a fair amount of CGI in his action scenes, however. Grammer is tall but not exactly a hulking brute and maybe just a tad old for someone who is supposed to be a contemporary of Scott and Jean. Vocal perfection for the part, however, I am quite satisfied there.

I hear rumour of Maggie Grace being looked at for Angel as well. Should be interesting to watch the final cast list.

Maggie's actually in talks for the role of Kitty Pryde. A name wasn't mentioned in connection with Angel, at least not yet.

Oh really? That makes a lot more sense. I'll poke my comic boy about that.

My first thought was "What? You've got to be kidding!" Then I thought more of it and realized that it could work quite well - especially with a suit and Grammer's voice - nicely cultured and very articulate.

Kesley is just doing this becuase he's jealous that David Hyde-Pierce voiced Abe Sapien. :)

I think Kelsie Grammer will make a fantastic Beast. The voice is perfect.

Wild.

I can't wait. 'Cause I love Kelsey Grammar and can't wait to see what he'll do with the role.:)
