So, I figured it might not be a bad thing to have a thread just for talking about SW:E3 over the next few days. FAIR WARNING: THIS IS NOT, NOR IS IT INTENDED TO BE, A SPOILER-FREE ZONE! If you're worried about someone dropping a plot bomb in here, don't read.

As mentioned previously, I'm not gonna get to it until Sunday. So, I won't be checking the thread. :) Have fun, play nice.

Anakin and Padme are the biological parents of Luke and Leia (someone has to do an on-topic spoiler :-)

This is the first one of the prequels I won't be seeing at midnight. It saddens me muchly. Eh well. I've been spoilered to heck and gone by the novelization anyway.

So Tom, as I was out driving around this evening I had an idea for a Tom Smith song: An end of StarWars(tm) opus, done to the tune of Seasons In The Sun. I think you're just the man to do it.

In fact, I'd say he's almost uniquely qualified to write a Tom Smith song.

You're implying I'd want to do something wistful and sensitive, as opposed to what I'm gonna do now that I've seen the thing.

I was kinda thinking heavy on sarcasm, actually. The tune is so sappy sweet that it just lends itself to parody. Besides, you could use it to warm the audience up before you launch the big torpedo.

A software vendor is showing it for free tomorrow at the Star Southfield, but I have to sit through 90 minutes of sales pitch before the movie starts. At 7:30am. Ah well.

my love of Star Wars has been reaffirmed.

HOWEVER, everyone besides Senator Palpatine desperately needs some acting lessons. The robots had better lines.

May the Force be with all.

Ah, bliss.

It didn't suck.

In fact, it was either the best or second best SW film ever made. I need to rewatch Empire to check.

Yummy, yummy Star Wars goodness. :-)

Third

I put a strong third. In order for me, it's
Empire,
New Hope,
Revenge of the Sith, followed distantly by Jedi. Which is neck and neck with episode 2. Which all are about as much better than Episode one, as they are better than plan nine from outer space. Actually i ENJOYED watching Plan Nine more than episode one, if that's a criteria.

Hmmm...

Best I can say about it is: "It Sucked.. Less"

o HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE Acting
o I've read randomly generated dialog that was more gripping
o Down right boring in place (One more shot of someone looking thoughtfully out a window and I was going to scream)

--- more after I've digested it some more

I my LJ, I made at least two comments on the incredibly wooden dialog...one of which was the title of the post.

Glad to see someone else feels that way, based on the glowing reviews I've been reading/hearing, everyone else saw a different film.

Midnight showing, packed house, first Star Wars film that didn't get a standing ovation.

The dialog in the novelization is wonderful, why couldn't Lucas have used it?

It Rocked.

There are no words for how much it Rocked.

The Duels.

The Battles.

Darth Vader.

Darth was a -bit- on the silly side, but I keep telling myself it's because he hasnt -really- abandoned every last shred of his humanity yet, although he's very close in the last few scenes.

But man, that shot of Darth Vader almost rising from the dead. Man, that sent a chill down my spine.

Five Stars. Lucas, I forgive you for binks. And pretty much everything in Episode One except for the last battle and the podracers. ^_^

Seeing it Sunday, already read the book.
