That was a thing of beauty.

I like how they handled the "Crusaders" - kept 'em to a couple of promos and got their asses kicked.

Word. It was almost exactly as I'd hoped -- the only thing I'd wish different would be a more extended battle between Angle and Taz. I could probably have done without Stone Cold, but he did work for the company, after all.

And who'da thunk a Mike Awesome match would be the best on the card!? And not 'cause the other matches stunk up the place?

Alas, I had to miss it due to spending the Weekend in San Diego to celebrate my brother's birthday.

After all, what we want to do must always take a back seat to what out loved ones ask from us.

Ah, well... With luck, the success of this one will warrant future ECW PPVs.

Lump, when the DVD comes out, latch onto it. The worst match on the show was Rey Mysterio/Psicosis, with an ugly ugly UGLY guillotine leg drop on the crowd barrier. (To be blunt, Psicosis and Eddie Guerrero were not at their best. But their not-at-their-best was still better than anything on WWE, and everybody else was jacked to the max.)

(I realized that I should emphasize that the "ugly ugly UGLY guillotine leg drop" was the high spot of the match -- gorgeous, vicious as hell. Rey did a 360°. But Psicosis was a bit slow, and he unmasked himself for what were likely valid emotional reasons, but it didn't work with the crowd.)

Truly. This was a PPV of spectacular note. Almost every wrestler had the passion that's been missing in WWE PPV's for....a damned long while. Some of it could be seen at `Mania 20 (excluding Block Headnar and Goldberg), but it was all here and was worth any price!

They're kicking ass and taking names to get the DVD of this one ready for DVD release June 28 (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0009RQSFK/qid%3D1118698791/sr%3D11-1/ref%3Dsr%5F11%5F1/002-7637165-9086440) -- yeah, that's this month. They want to see what sales are like, and they want to beat Hardcore Homecoming (http://www.pwtorch.com/artman/publish/article_13552.shtml) to DVD. That show, the previous evening, had many of the same performers (Foley, Sandman, Justin Credible, Danny Doring & Roadkill, Francine, etc., etc., etc.) and all the rest who didn't appear at ECW:ONS, including Raven, Tammy Sytch, and Jerry Lynn.

Well, then I know I'm gonna be grabbing both! And wishing that JBL's hat deflates and takes his ears with it! ;)
