Sadness. Jonathan Adams, who played the Narrator in the original stage production of The Rocky Horror Show, and played Dr. Everett Scott in the movie, has passed away at the age of 74. (Purists will also recall he played Warner, the scientist who creates the robot Maria, in the 1989 British stage musical of Metropolis starring Brian Blessed.)

Too bad. :-(

On a lighter note, at your performances, are you allowed to sing filksongs written by other people? 'Cuz I think you'd do a good cover of "Banned on Argo" and "Hope Ayrie".

Decorum means a lot. I wouldn't sing someone's song if they were there, because, y'know, they might want to sing 'em. I'm actually thinking of two different covers of "Hope Eyrie", and I might eventually do something with "Argo" as well, but not in the regular repertoire....

I didn't notice Leslie FIsh being on this years guest list for Dragon Con, so maybe you could play then? I've heard some truly spectacular renditions of Hope's Ayrie at various cons, but all the recorded versions I've listened to are kinda flat.

While I think Tom would do an admirable version of Hope Eyrie, I would REALLY want to hear the Air Force Academy Men's Choir do that song.

Damn, that would kick ass.

I saw the Rocky Horror Show down on King's Road (it's 2nd home after the initial run at ... I think ... the Royal Court's upstairs little theatre) in 74-75 (7 times I think) and I wonder if he was in any of the casts I saw ...

I wonder if I still have any programs from that ... or anything else I saw that year ...

damn ... now you have me wondering ... time for some spelunking in the basement I think

Well, damn. If I wasn't riding in the Pride parade Sunday morning, I'd go to the show tomorrow night and ask the cast for a moment of noise in his honor. (Like you could ever get a Rocky cast to be silent.)

Will there be a moment at the memorial service where you're allowed to throw TP rolls?
