InConjunction was a good time indeed. Improv'd a song for Toastmaster Rob Pyatt and special guest Steve Godzilla. Filked with Juanita and [livejournal.com profile] zencuppa, and a couple of new kids, including one guy named Joe (I've got his full name and web page out in the car, I'll update it later this morning) who had some tacky, funny stuff and a spiff serious song or two. Good concert set. Nice buncha fans all weekend -- very friendly, helpful, huggable people all around. Met the el spiffo Aaron Williams and his lovely wife Cristi. Met the tremendously nice Joe Urban, the guy who plays Woody (the dad) in Saving Star Wars. Spent time with the excellent Gary Wood, the writer/director of same, and his new assistant, a really nice guy whose name I sadly can't recall right this second. Chatted up Doug & Christy (with Grant) Johnson and other lovely folks from MillenniCon.

All praise to [livejournal.com profile] per_solo and his crew for a fine time. I'll be doing InCon again.

Next up is My Batshit Adventure, wherein I go see Christine Lavin at the Ark on Thursday the 14th, stand in line with Anne to get the new Harry Potter book on Friday the 15th, and then the next morning drive to ConFluence for two sets in the late afternoon, the second with Pete Grubbs. Yes, you read that right -- the rollicking return, for one night only, of The Tom & Pete Show!

Between now and then, I'm going to update and overhaul the main web page, with some shuffling of the music tracks and a few new goodies, and arrange the last three songs for The Last Hero On Earth. And laundry. Must do laundry.

How's your next couple of weeks looking?

Pretty odd, actually. This week I don't know whether or when I'm working where. (Rolled off client's Boston account on Thursday and onto the same client's Toronto account Friday, except that both $boss and I were out Friday and (of course) today.) Next week I've got the monthly local sysadmin networking thingy which this month isn't about sysadmin topics at all. I've also got a CPAP mask refitting/reselection appointment, and I'll need to pack so I can take the stuff I'm not leaving in Bostonia to Toronto. Oh, and I need to plan the driving route to get there. And cancel the bells and whistles on the cable service, since I won't be here to watch TV more often than 1 or 2 weekends a month.

I bet you won't even miss it. I haven't, for more than two years. How's the CPAP working out for you?

Generally well, though I have issues with the current mask. (New mask fitting/selection process on the 13th.)

Lessee. I've got work. Hmmm, and work. Oh yes, more work.

Did I mention work?

But at least I got a raise!

Work. Lots of work. Hopefully, lots of extra days of work, and I hope it will stay that way until GenCon in August.

Good luck, much overtime, and minimal emergency expenses.

Thanks!

Emergency expenses should be minimal as long as the dental checkup goes OK on Wednesday, and no severe weather hits the Houston area. Of course, they always find some reason to drill in my mouth, and last night the weatherman said there's a tropical depression heading towards Galveston...

Wow. You know, for just one moment I considered whether or not I could managed to drive to AA after work, watch the concert, drive home, work the next morning, and still get to Confluence at a reasonable time.

Actually, it's sold out. (Part of a benefit series over the whole weekend.) I just want to slip in, say hi, and give her a copy of the new album.

Unexpected furniture shopping. The waterbed leaked its last and there's only so long I can stand sleeping on the sofa.

Now, to get more sleep and update with the Part 2 of my report.

Hey Tom. CONvergence was an amazingly positive experience, I'll tell you more about it later. Just wanted to remind you that if you were interested in having me do some art for the pro pressing of 24HCD2 to let me know. Gotta run and finish my new CD between now and about the 14th. :) Talk to you later!

This weekend, I'm heading up to Milwaukee for a CD release for Howard Ashby Kranz' debut album, where I will get to see friends I see too little of. Next weekend, I'm trying to figure out how to be at a small amusement park/zoo in Angola, IN (~5 hours away) all day Saturday for the MEFES (local branch of the Feline Conservation Federation) meeting, also be at EFRC by 9ish on Sunday, and somehow get enough sleep that I survive the experience. While I'm not driving and worrying about these things, I'll be trying to line my ducks up for a major road trip to Miami at the end of the month. Hopefully I'll find some time in there for halfheartedly looking for a job and for trying to make some progress on my deplorable backlog of work on my photos.

I'm home on IV antibiotics for the next three weeks.

I'd really rather be going to see Christine Lavin, to be frank.

Are your sets at Confluence both Saturday afternoon? I can't find a schedule on their website & am trying to arrange to drag the fiend who hooked me on your music to come see you(se).

First one is, I believe, at 4:00 pm Saturday. Pete joins me on stage at 5:00. I rag on him for taking an hour to get up there, he says most women appreciate a man who doesn't rush, and we're off.

They may appreciate a man who doesn't rush, but taking a full hour to get up? Most women I've, er, discussed this with would be disappointed. :)

Nice! Christine Lavin sounds like fun.

Myself? I will be trying to make some short work weeks by taking this upcoming Friday and Monday off and attending my first ever Godzilla Convention!!! G-FEST XII (http://www.g-fan.com/g-fest_x.htm)

I have so many fond memories of my childhood. Brighter days and those Giant Monsters, Godzilla especially, were a big part of it. It reminds of a time when all it took was some cheesy potatoes, a TV tray, and some people wrestling in monster vinyl suites on the 4 o clock movie to make my day. Ahhhh who am I kiddin that ‘stuff’ still makes my day!!!

I am hoping to enjoy the whole ham-damn weekend with many like-minded individuals.

Go Go GODZILLA!!!

My week?!

Let's see... if I can swap shifts around my Mom has free tickets for "Jesus Christ Superstar" on the 11th. I have jury duty the 13th and 14th and if I don't get picked for a jury (I never have... knock wood) I'm working the Harry Potter Midnight Release party on the 15th.

In retail terms... Christmas in July!
