BRAAYYYNNNNZZZ!
Jul. 4th, 2005 03:46 pmIt's been one murfledy-murfle long frickin' time since Tom U. and I went to a monster matinee, so that's what we did today. We saw George Romero's Land of the Dead. Tremendous fun -- as Tom said, "Everything a zombie movie should be". Clever, original, scary, and fun fun fun. Not for the kids, not for a few years yet, but this is a strong candidate for Best Zombie Movie Ever.
So, what's the next movie you're looking forward to?

Date: 2005-07-05 05:36 am (UTC)I hate to be a wet blanket, but my reaction to that phrase is "the first thing a zombie movie should be is not made". Some people are color blind, some people are tone deaf, and I guess I'm just zombie-appreciation-impaired.

Date: 2005-07-05 08:32 pm (UTC)I expect Charlie to be disapointing, because Depp is no Gene Wilder. I expect Fantastic Four to be cool things blowing up with no real story. So my hope rests on Wallace and Grommit. But that's not till October. Sigh.
