Calling London
Jul. 7th, 2005 06:15 amA series of devastating explosions. Casualties, deaths, damage. Nosemonkey is liveblogging it at Europhobia. (Thanks to Friendly Fire in comments at Eschaton for the heads-up.)
I'm not sure where in England some of you on my friend's list are -- are you okay?

Date: 2005-07-07 02:53 pm (UTC)You can't get into the city, and officials are now attempting to get people out of the city; busses are gradually being brought back, and some trains (not subway trains) are running. Cell & land phone lines are swamped.
The most amazing thing is the response of the Brits: they are stoic, calm, and determined. No surprise from the people who were blitzed in WWII. Everyone has condemned the attack--politicians and religious leaders--, which seems to be linked to the G8 summit. (It's too well-planned to be linked to the 2012 Olympics.)
