Can't help but love this link. By way of my dad, who's about as jacked as the rest of us are: Potter Parties.

So, what are your plans for Friday night? (Yes, [livejournal.com profile] jss1113, we know: Getting a good night's sleep. Harry Who? (^_-) )

I'm getting away with NOT WORKING at my bookstore and being a customer instead AND I have three days after the release off so I can read the book (TWICE).

How did I pull this off? I asked for time off 3 MONTHS in advance and then BITCHED when it looked like I was going to be screwed out of it.

You can read 6000 pages in 72 hours? I'm impressed.

Listening to/playing in concerts at ConFluence. Alas, my copy of the book will be delivered while I'm not home! Aiiigh!

Which is why I'm getting both the book and the book on CD for the drive to ConFluence. ;)

Friday night at midnight. And, my set is at 4:00, followed immediately by The Tom & Pete Show at 5:00, so I actually haven't got a "between concerts"....

Confluence and the San Diego Comic Con had better have book dealers prepared for the situation or there will be hell to pay. I predict light turnout and a lot of room service at both cons on Saturday morning.

I'm going to a major chain bookstore with friends, one of whom is a very excited 7 year old. One of the Borders in our area is managed by a SCA member who is trying to get some of us out in costume as walkaround witches and wizards... mmmm, maybe.

Ooh, thanks for posting this! We've put our little rural library's party on it, just to be part of the Big Fun!

If I didn't have to get up for work at 4AM the next day, I'd go to Spellbound 2005. A local release party that Luke will be at.

Sometimes, I hate having to work weekends.

I'm going to take a nap after I get out of work friday (get out at 4:30pm) and then head up to the party at SchulerBooks around 10pm or so. Get my copy of the book and go home and read it until I'm done. *grin*

That's what I did last book... I think it took me 6 hours of straight reading to finish the book (and yes, I comprehend also... I just read quickly.)

*g* So I'm planning on reading saturday until I finish book 6, and then I'm going to sleep. lol.

I'm playing music at the local Indigo store. My dress robes are almost ready. Then I get to read the book after Mike has finished it. He's planning on staying up all night to read it. I figure I'll be doing a lot reading next weekend.

I actually got a chance at press tickets to review a new production of Taming of the Shrew plus Fletcher's 1616 sequel Tamer Tamed at Shakespeare & Co. that night.

Moment of consternation when I realized the press opening conflicted with the Harry Potter book release, but eventually the Bard won.

[BTW, Pandemonium Bks in Cambridge MA is having a Potter Party for grownups.]

Might pick it up Friday night. Might do it Saturday. It all depends on the brain hamsters and their plans.

I was actually lazy for this release and didn't pre-order with Amazon. I think I'm gonna hit our local Kroger at midnight on Friday and pick it up then.

Going to the local Joseph-Beth's to pick up my copy at midnight; likely to go earlier so as to go the party beforehand... Was really fun last time, should be interesting this time around!

working the first hour and a half of the midnight magic party at borders (which starts at 9 pm), then going to a goth drag show, then getting a little sleep before going back to open at borders and watch the insanity as the people not willing to be downtown at midnight on a friday camp out in front of the store for hours waiting for us to open while it's light out.
i hate people sometimes. but at least i know it's just because i work retail.

Actually, I'm staying home and watching the season premier of Battlestar Galactica. I pre-ordered the book, but money's tight, so I'm going to have to wait until I get a pay check before buying it.
