Okay! The book goes on sale at midnight tonight. If you want to talk about it, here's the place. Just to keep everyone sane, if you have any comedy spoilers, please label them as such. They'll still be funny tomorrow. :)

OH, I think your news item from the GUARDIAN was quite enough. I'm sending that out to my Discworld lists!

Rosebud was a sled! The butler did it! Kirk dies! Bwahahaha!

It was one possible solution in Murder by Death, too.

There IS no solution to Murder By Death! NO ONE DID IT!

Where the butler really did it

Would you settle for a book? Isaac Asimov, "The Robots of Dawn". If Giscard wasn't the equivalent of a butler, you're not paying attention.

Nope - gotta be a movie (too many bad mysteries as well as the one you named).

J.K Rowling tells all Book-7 Predictors that she will reveal no information, taking a page from the book of Robert Jordan, she said simply, "RAFO."

Maybe not, but lordy, can you blame her? Imagine being the focus of all those questions over the years. At least, as of today, she can relax for a few minutes before the deluge of stupid and/or unanswerable questions about Book 7 begin.

Besides, I heard that at the end of the book that a shot rings out, and night falls!

I find it fascinating that the release is midnight *local* time, so a friend in Israel already has hers, but I have to wait over an hour. (Actually, tomorrow: I'm Amazoning it.) I except the next one will be midnight GMT or some such.

And I'm replying to my own message to reveal that I finished the damn thing in less than twelve hours and am now feeling the effects (totally drunk on HP, y'all -- try drunk-dialing your friends when you finish the book for hilarious results).

Spolers, yo.

Here's a spoiler.

Every last shipper gets their hearts ripped out at least once or twice, Harry pulls a Rand Al'Thor (man, I read too much WOT.) The person no one expected to die in book 6 dies, the person NO ONE expected to be the HBP Pulls an Anakin Skywalker, and The stage is set for Book Seven,*joke* Harry Potter and the Showdown at the Hogwarts Corral.*/joke*

Oh, and Harry sorta-kinda grows up. At least he whines less.

And there's lots of snogging.

Kosh dies, and Sheridan tells the Shadows to get out of the galaxy...

Oh..you meant Harry Potter spoilers...

OK, he survives the Korean war and goes home to the US (like most of the main characters except for Klinger who marries a Korean girl and stays there.)

Oh... you mean THAT Harry Potter...

Dobby elopes with Dolores Umbridge. :)

Yeah, and I was just thinking aloud the other day that ol' Sherman had a daughter, not a son.

But as long ago as Mash was

That daughter might well have become a hippy, and had a son without marrying, and kept it. Therefore James Potter.

The Snakey Song made me giggle horribly. I almost feel ashamed for it, but it was strangely endearing, in a very bad way.

And was anyone else having Red Dwarf flashbacks to the Luck Virus? ("You want to take a magic carpet to see the King of the Potato People - and you think *I'm* insane?")

Spoilers for real...

I don't believe a word of it. I don't think ANYONE actually dies. I think its a scam to blow your mind in the last book when the we-thought-he-was-dead guy turns back up. Amazing really. Also, once again, Snape is hated by everyone and I think we will find he was just following orders.

so there.
