Nicked from Pandagon, which got it from Catch -- a simple site that shows the last fifty images uploaded to LiveJournal.

(The big reason I've tagged this "not work safe" is that I literally have no control over what will be posted by the millions [AND MILLIONS] of LJ users. If you get explicit Hagrid/Dumbledore fan art or someone showing off their new piercing, it ain't my fault.)

See, that's just not right ... a lot of those images are being pulled from imagehosts that charge by the server load or have daily bandwidth limits, or which are intended only for the poster's friends. It took me forever to figure out why my photos account was reporting hundreds of hits and running out of bandwidth within minutes of my posting anything.

It's sites like this that are responsible for so many journals being friends-only. There are a lot of things that I want to show friends, am willing to show people who actually come to visit my journal directly, but don't want seen by thousands of strangers.

(Of course, that only makes a difference now -- despite LJ's protests, pictures from friends only posts demonstrably did used to show up on these sites, and sites like Fusker were picking up nude images from people's locked posts and making them publicly available. This has supposedly been fixed now ...)

What if it was a picture of Dumbledore showing Hagrid his new piercing?

(With XML feed)

This is off the LJ site home page, so really the "Last 50" aren't the only problem.

Course the WEIRD part is seeing someone you know when looking through the list!

Ryland has one that you can select up to 250 pictures. Go to http://aboyandhiscomputer.com/lj.php and select however many you and you connection can handle at once.

There are actually a whole bunch of these sites and I use them to do Screen Cap Comics. I don't know about the bandwidth objections. Seems to me bandwidth has become dirt cheap, and the posting of images to a public forum is a blanket grant to anyone to view them.

I find it a very useful read on webcomics zeitgeist, too. Found some awesome up-and-comers by people posting strips into their LJ.
