Nicked from [livejournal.com profile] dubheach:

1) Reply with your name and I'll respond with something random about you.
2) I'll tell you what song/movie reminds me of you.
3) I'll pick a flavor/color of jello to wrestle with you in. (Maybe.)
4) I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me.
5) I'll tell you my first memory of you.
6) I'll tell you what animal you remind me of.
7) I'll ask you something that I've always wondered about you.
8) If I do this for you, you must post this on your journal. You MUST. It is written.

... Okay, I had a feeling this wasn't going to work out as advertised. But I'm having fun, and I hope you are as well. Forgive if my memory is fuzzy -- I meet a lot of folks, and am nowhere near as good with names and faces as I should be.

2. "Old Joe's Place" by The Folksmen
3. Blackberry
4. This is actually one of the two I'll get stuck on a lot, if only because [a] many of my online/convention friends I don't see a lot and [b] we all tend to know the same stuff, especially comedy routines.
5. And here's the other. I literally can't remember exactly when I first physically met you, although it might've been GAFilk 2001.
6. A big, scruffy, friendly dog.
7. How did you get so many good parody ideas before I did?

2. Ozzy Osborne and Coal Chamber's cover of "Shock The Monkey".
3. Nipple, of course.
4. Hell of a venue, that Nietzsche's, huh?
5. PenguiCon last year, when you, Tony, and Luke were freaking out because you couldn't get the CD player to work, and I got out the guitar and kept everyone busy till you guys figured it out.

This is actually very random, but-

You have no idea who I am, anyway, so I might as well tell you something about myself.

I'm a 21 year old college student who lives in Ohio. I'm leaving in six weeks to go to the Art Institute of Seattle, leaving home for the first time, totally striking off on my own.

My parents met in the Canton Science Fiction book club, and I grew up listening to the likes of you, Michael Lonchor, Julia Ecklar, Leslie Fish, and Ookla the Mok.

I was raised in one of the most bigoted towns in Ohio (confederate flags everwhere, 3 rumoured groups of KKK), but I grew up knowing that it didn't matter the racial, sexual, or physical differences between people, because of Science Fiction.

My Mom and Dad went to OVFF every single year until I was 16 - and they'd always bring home those big bags of stuff with the plastic spider rings and plastic snakes - but they'd also bring home the tapes - much of them being your work.

... When Jim Henson passed away, we listened to a Boy and his Frog - and I (then 6 years old), asked my mother is Kermit was dead - and she said no. And the song was proof.

I listened to Superman Sex Life Boogie when I was 8, grooving in the car when my mom drove us to Pennsic. (We're in the SCA, too.)

My Dad sang us "I want to be Peter Lorre", and my sister (who is two years older then I) giggled our heads off - even though we didn't even know who Peter Lorre was.

So I didn't know if you even knew, but you've shaped people's lives. Mine, my sister's, my parents.

We still have the boxes of Audio tapes - Kind of dusty with the advent of the MP3, but I can say I'm still a fan.

2. The Goonies (likely because of the company you keep ;)
3. I cannot help but think "... and Vicki". No, wait.
4. Rob (the other Rob)'s last name is appropos, don't you think?
5. Aaah, dammit. Now I'm trying to remember -- I believe it was on the Dizzy Whirl trip. I've got the picture from that on my corkboard. But I've got some other incident in my mind, where we all went out to Rob's for a few minutes.
6. A lemur. With big eyes.
7. Are you the right guy? :)

You probably don't know me either, but this seems like a good meme to pipe up in.

You were at Consonance in San Jose... I think the year was 1992, the year Lady Colleen ran con suite and was expecting (Emerald, 13 now). I bought the "Domino Death" tape a few years later, and left it in my car stereo for months at a time, getting my friends addicted to it.

One such friend and I once sang "Divine Irregularity" in a filk room, to the tune of Gilligan's Island. It seemed like a good idea at the time...

Thanks for all the songs.

1. You look like a ladyfriend of mine, twenty years ago. As if time stopped, or you stepped out of a vortex.
2. "Crimson and Clover", 'cause of the red hair and (I think I'm remembering correctly) lime green shirt.
3. Lime, that ol' fave.
4. Ooooh. Filk in the dark.
5. A big smile and pretty red hair. Young. How come you're so damn young? No, don't answer that.
6. KITTY!
7. What does "Escape Key" mean, anyway? Besides the obvious file-in-the-cake meaning.

This is gonna sound like an insane copout, but I haven't formed any opinion much beyond "apparently nice person who posts with some regularity and hasn't been, like, y'know, a real jerkface or anything", a description that applies to a lot of folks here. In a lot of ways, going over LJ is exactly like performing at a con -- I talk to a lot of people, even get into involved conversations with some of them, but I don't personally know as many as all that.

1. Excellent cook.
2. "Falling Free". (I read the novel over at your place.)
3. I am reminded of the Swami Beyondananda bit about Don Ho getting together with Yoko Ono and Yo-Yo Ma to record a rock-and-roll album in a Howard Johnson's in New Orleans. The album title was Yoko Yo-Yo HoJo MoJo Ho. The sequel was, of course, Mo' Yoko Yo-Yo HoJo Mojo Ho. Ho was interviewed, and the interviewer understood why Yoko was there, but why Yo-Yo Ma? To which Don replied, "There's always room for cello."
4. Beehive.
5. You studying for something-or-other at your computer, which was way the hell more powerful than mine at the time (either a C128 or an Amiga 1000, can't remember the precise timeline).
6. A big ol' fuzzy ferret.
7. I can't remember if we had this conversation, but... did you think B.C. was as much of a jerkface as I did at the time? Granted, I had special incentive.

DUDE! No wonder I couldn't track you down. That "42" wasn't anywhere in the vicinity of your e-mail address.

1. Potential. Gobs of potential.
2. That really crass and funny song you guys did that we all did verses to.
3. Remembering that song, I think I'll skip the jello. ;)
4. Good luck on the exam.
5. You and your buds just launching into that song, and me and Juanita and several others gaping, and then laughing our asses off.
6. Dunno yet.
7. Did you find out from your folks if OVFF was a possibility?

Enough about me, let's talk about you... What do YOU think of me?

1. Random.
2. Not a song as such, but I hear Robin Williams in my head saying, "Ye-e-ey, Lumpy!"
3. Dunno, but it's likely got chunks of fruit in it.
4. Actually, given our strange takes on things, there are probably too many examples -- I just can't think of 'em right this second....
5. I couldn't tell you precisely what early post of yours it was, but something you wrote made me grin at the screen and mutter to myself, "Oh, it's going to be one of those parties, huh...?"
6. A panda bear.
7. Why the icon change?
