So, [livejournal.com profile] thespian, commenting in the previous thread, pointed me to the online strip Something Positive.

This one is the set-up.

This is the payoff.

Wow.

I'm sure I mentioned S*P to you before, as one of the webcomics I read regularly. Hrmf.

I know you have, and I've looked at it before. It just hasn't made it to my regular list yet, although I think this pushed it over the edge. :)

Yeah, I was planning to tell you myself when I saw I'd been beaten to the punch. Hell, I think everybody who saw the strip who listens to your stuff was.

I was about to post a comment on it myself, but remembered to check to see if someone else had gotten there first. Yep. ((grins))

*pow* Right between the eyes.

And the strip, too. Definite coolth.

(Insert scribble overlaying several attempts at mood-shifting jokes about shouting out "McIntyre", here...)

Wow indeed. You did write a classic there, y'know.

(For the record, no, I've never made it dry-eyed to the end of that song m'self)

I didn't actually notice the footnote when I first read that, and I didn't recognize the song... I'm still pretty new to your stuff, though. (I've bought four of your CDs at recent cons before I moved across the country, but they were all your newest ones, I think.)

So I popped onto your website and noticed that your remix CD is back in stock! Containing, well, all of the songs I've heard you perform but do not yet own, as well as a few I've heard mention of but never actually heard (i.e. this one, Storm Dancing, and Heat of the Blood. (I had no idea what "Heat of the Blood" was when I first listened to "This Ain't Over Yet", and I thought you might have been referring to a movie or musical or something that I hadn't seen.)

So, uh, moral of the story? Thanks to S*P, you get some more of my money and I get some more filk. Sweet.

Thanks for posting these, Tom! I'm a regular reader of S*P and somehow I managed to miss those two strips entirely! Like just about everyone else, I can't make it through that song dry-eyed, either. Makes me so pissed off at myself for being so sentimental I have to play Domino Death after that to cheer myself up!

Dude, NIFTY.

And yeah. If you can make it to the end of that song without at least some water in your eyes, than either you have no heart or you have lacrimation issues.

I'd love to hear it at Conglom, but understand if you don't want to play it. It makes me weep too. But, in a good way.

When are you performing?

Actually, that's kinda up in the air right now. I will have a set of some kind on Friday evening, possibly as early as 9:15, more likely starting as late as 10:30. Another set Saturday, either at 1:00 or (less likely) 4:00.

Just was catching up on my Something Positive reading, and came across the mention of you, which reminded to visit and bookmark your site! After all, you told me to at ConGlomeration. I just didn't write it down then. Anyhow, this is the newbie, still looking for some of that 307 Ale. Thank you for bringing both a smile (nay, many smiles!) to my face that night, as well as tears to my eyes tonight when I read the lyrics to "A Boy and His Frog". I don't know what tune it is set to, but I plan to ask Lexie to hear it. I can't even listen to "Rainbow Connection" w/o getting teary, so this definitely hit the mark. Many, many thanks.
