The hotel room was, shall we say, a long story... but the con was great, lots of fun, and I sang my little brains out and hung with [livejournal.com profile] dubheach and [livejournal.com profile] sylverwolfe and [livejournal.com profile] surakofb5 and [livejournal.com profile] lukeski and Murray and Juanita and Kerry and Bill and his ladies and Benji and his lady and Lee and just a gang of folks. Last year I was a guest; this year I was kinda sorta paid entertainment. Next year, I might just go for fun. Many thanks to ConGlomeration's excellent staff for all of their kindnesses great and small -- you guys run a pretty good show. :)

So, how was your weekend? I would've kept up, except that one of the parts of the "long story" was the wireless connection that didn't exist....

It's a pretty good weekend. Faire was interesting... Ginger did sell the shoppe and several other booths have either moved or gone, but it was good.

I'm going back the Sunday of Labor Day, you gonna be up there then??

Oh yeah. Duh. Get up there the weekend before Labor Day if you can then. Go see Cast in Bronze.

Cast in Bronze is the only moble bell carrilon(sp?) in the country, if not the world, and the man is absolutely amazing. I've seen him in Folorida and Texas, this is his first time at the Michigan faire, tho he's played the bells in Burton Tower before. Unfortunately, he's only here for two weekends.

i have been a punny, punny girl today, both in my 10 am panel and during cleanup. at one point i made rachel's head hurt with a pun about mutton burgers and buns on the lam(b), and bruce crawford winced at some other awful quip i said, and he agreed that i did indeed spend a LOT of time with you and murray this weekend.
it was wonderful to see you, sweetie, and i'm glad you had fun. i know my weekend was more enjoyable having you here.

I'm so glad! You were a lifesaver, and as usual just a delight. I'll likely talk to you within the month.

Well, officially I passed into the next selection down the Drop-Down list for age ranges to the 40-49 range, but on the upside, all attending my birthday party this afternoon pitched in and I got an iPod Mini! Now as soon as I have all of my iTunes stuff configured it's off to download "Homecoming".
Glad to hear most things went well for the con...hotel rooms are always an ordeal, wether checkin goes ok or not, or wether you're camped out directly underneath the rooms where a girls soccer team was camped out with NO parental supervision (what was worse--the CON got blamed for all the kicked-in walls, doors, TVs, etc).

Bithdy Haprap! Apparently, iPods rudely put the tracks in alphabetical order based on their ID3 tags, not the filenames as I thought. I'll be doing some fixing of that....

Oh, not much happened down here in Texas. Saw a movie that hasn't been released yet thanks to a friend with a connection... a broadband connection, that is. (chuckle)

Great visit to the Cincy Zoo.

Best overheard dialogue:
Kid: Look! That zebra is trying to climb on the other zebra's back.
Dad: Let's go now.

This was even more amusing since the bottom zebra was male. The gender of the top zebra was in doubt, perhaps even to the zebras.

Waah! [livejournal.com profile] sylverwolfe told me you left before I woke up this morning, so I didn't get to say goodbye. :( Hopefully I'll get to see you at DragonCon.

I missed you leaving too

I kinda had the same thought. I ended up getting roped for different things and never got to get a hug goodbye :(

I hope to possibly see you next month. It was a lot of fun, and I got more music! YaY!

Glad you're back home, safe and sound :)

And, please, please please come back :)

Pretty good, actually.
Spent two days gaming (D20, set in the Diablo world setting) and listening to this great new CD I downloaded from Tom Smith Online (http://www.tomsmithonline.com) called Homecoming: MarCon 2005!

I saw you play at ConGlom, right before Luke Ski, and I'd like to mention that you were amazing, I hope you do go back next year.
