Got things firmed up with Dragon*Con for Labor Day weekend, although the schedule is still a little free-form. It looks as if I will have several sets there, including two turns in the big ballroom at the Hyatt. Fun fun fun.

So, who else is gonna be there?

Dragon*Con? I wish. I'll be lucky to afford Gen•Con SoCal this year.

[livejournal.com profile] kitanzi and I are planning to be there for at least Saturday. Wanna hook up for lunch/dinner at some point?

Distinct possibility. I'm gonna be on the music concourse (one floor below the main floor of the Hyatt) most of the time, starting Friday afternoon; [livejournal.com profile] huskiebear, [livejournal.com profile] lukeski, [livejournal.com profile] surakofb5, [livejournal.com profile] partiallyclips, and Moonwolf should be within proximity most of the time. They're planning to have a filk showcase on one evening in the big room, and a comedy night the next, along with whatever filking I'm doing.

Actually, Tom, when I'm not hanging around with you or my Marcon friends or hitting the dealer's room, I plan to be worshipping at the feet of Joss Whedon and the Firefly cast. But I'd love to have lunch or dinner, especially since we didn't get time at ConGlom.

So how about firming things up for me and Shoebox, eh? We both want to perform there. :)

I'm not the guy to talk to. Actually, Luke would have a better handle on it... but the one you really need to communicate with is Dave, the filk coordinator. His e-mail is spellsinger at comcast dot net.

Luke is on the job, actually. Last I heard it had something to do with whether or not Ookla was coming. That's about all I know.

Long story short, if Ookla doesn't come, getting you & ShoEboX a band table will be easy. If they Ookla does come, it will be more difficult, but I will do everything I can to make it happen because I want you both there. I want Ookla there too, just like I wanted them there last year. I want all my dementia friends to be there, dammit!

I'm more concerned about performing than getting a band table. If I'm just going to be a doing 1 or 2 songs mixed in somewhere over the weekend it's really not going to be worth it for me to come. (Although I really want to meet Joss Whedon.) I need to do I'd say at least 20 minutes to get people interested enough in my music to buy CDs.

I'm just concerned that at this point most of the schedule is filled and by the time Ookla decides whether they're coming or not there won't be any time in the schedule to fit us in.

Trust me, YOU WANT THE BAND TABLE. $$$$$$$$

I'll see how much stage time I can get you.

Remember also that, for those who didn't have big-room stage time, there's a smaller stage out by the band tables. (The band tables, i.e., the music concourse, is in the Hyatt, one floor below the lobby, right by the main elevators and the main stairwell. LOTS of traffic.)

We are planning on going and renting a car to drive there from Louisville. We plan to leave early Friday morning and head down there, stay two nights and come back Sunday morning. We are in the market to let someone ride along if they are A. not looking like an axe murder too much B. can throw in $100 and some gas money (hotel and car space) and C. see A a second time.

I bought a couple of your cds at conglomeration and they are sounding really - and please don't take this the wrong way - professional. I mean, man, if you keep this up, you are going to be famous - as well as talented and sexy...

However, I want to go to Dragoncon to see Anne McCaffrey. I am, literally, her number one fan. The thought of even getting to meet her is a dream that I never thought possible. Why the devotion? Let's just say I had a crappy child hood that her books saved me from.

Looking forward to seeing you there, too.

I'll be doing the Nasfic that same weekend [curse the conflicting conventions, Batman!], but look forward to buying the new cd when it comes out.

The food court often closes early, but the Dairy Queen is usually open until 10 p.m. or so & every day.

Have a big time!

Annoyingly, I still don't know if I'm invited or not. I'm not holding my breath at this point, but hopefully I'll see you there.

Not me, I haven't been at a Dragon*Con in about 8 years. Maybe it's time to come back. In the meantime, this Labor Day weekend I am involved in a SCA Iron Chef contest to entertain the historical foodie masses, such as they are.

I, the great Luke Ski, will be there with my new CD "unCONVENTIONal"! I will be doing shows with Tom Smith, Moonwulf, Rob Balder, and hopefully Ookla the Mok, Sudden Death, and Worm Quartet. Also, Consortium of Genius will be there. The power of dementia will destroy Atlanta!
