The Last Hero On Earth: An Update
Aug. 29th, 2005 10:50 amWell, I thought I would have the new album (The Last Hero On Earth: A 24-Hour Project) done in time for Dragon*Con.
I was wrong.
It's damn near done, and I even have some excellent vocals by Karen, with more on the way from her and Anne. But I was hoping to have it to press already. Ain't gonna happen. I mean, it's physically possible. I could get audio from Anne and Karen today and tomorrow, and do my own clean-up recording, and spend all day Wednesday mixing, and have the final version ready to burn, and all I'd have to do is not sleep between now and Thursday.
So. I will have a preview CD-R for sale at Dragon*Con, but not in any huge quantities. Even some of the tracks from that are likely to change, and I think that the final CD is just gonna have a bunch of bonus tracks of the project's evolution (including my lame attempt at "female" vocals, so you can all heap even more praise on Anne & Karen for sparing you from that). If everything goes right, I'll be able to finish the darn thing after we're back from that, and have it off to Oasis well before the end of the month.
To give you an idea of how much better it sounds with actual female vocals, here's a freebie: a decent-quality MP3 of The Romance of George and Al for your downloading pleasure. (The final version will likely be different, possibly in undetectable ways.)
So. Big release party at ConClave, OVFF, or both. :)
