Do I have to wait? At least I saw it during its pre-Broadway run.

Heh. I'm looking forward to this remake, unlike almost every other remake I've heard of. Now that I've seen the trailer, I really can't wait. :)

After seeing it on Broadway and on tour, I was terrified when they said they'd cast Thurman as Ulla. Now that I've seen the trailer, though, it looks great!

I still would have liked to see Robin Williams as the ex-Nazi playwrite. Ah well, looks good anyway. Now, all Mel has to do is produce an animated feature and he can die.

You know, a Brooks parody of some damn giant-mecha anime would be a thing of beauty.

NO!

Mel brooks MUST complete SPACEBALLS 2 - THE SEARCH FOR MORE MONEY - Before he can pass on to the next life. ^_^

When he does, he'll deserve it, no matter how horrible it will be to see the greatest film-maker of our time pass on.

Ummm... Clone Wars? The best thing to happen to Star Wars in, like, forever? Or the one Lucas is talking about for later...?

Is Clone Wars the one they were running on Cartoon Network recently? I saw it and was utterly and completely unimpressed. Besides, I don't trust Lucas with his own work anymore, not after the re-edits he did on ANH and on THX1138. Absolutely criminal.

That's the one. Sigh. If you don't like, you don't like.

I just want the pure Golden Age "gosh wow (sense of wonder)" rush that ANH gave me in '77. ANH looked fresh and honest, and it was: it was a Hail Mary play by Lucas. He had no way of knowing what a hit it would be, so he just threw himself into it and made the best movie he could--and that's how and why it worked.

Mel is way ahead of you. This came out last January:

I haven't head anything SINCE then, so I don't know if this is still happening or not. But I'll take whatever Mel Brooks material I can get. I can't get enough of the guy. :)

Hmmm...

"Clinton's second term was over
All was hunky-dory
Gore was ready to carry on
His part in the story
But the vote got mixed
The people's will was nixed
The Supreme Court votes 5 to 4
Our election was fixed

Tax cuts for all of the rich

Come on, red states, let's turn progress BACK!

Why? You're doing fine. Also, to be blunt, right now I've got a small allergy to collaboration. (This does not affect or involve [livejournal.com profile] partiallyclips, just so he doesn't freak out.)
