Date: 2005-09-28 06:55 pm (UTC)1. An ammendment is passed by the GOP-dominated house preventing him from being arrested.
2. He is be tried by a jury hand-selected by the GOP-dominated house, thusly reducing his trial to a farce.
3. Even if he is convicted, he recieves a Presidential Pardon. Probably a Congressional Medal, to boot.
Face it, Tom. They're on top, and they control the MEANS to get on top.
America, as we know it, is dead. It is now the world's wealthiest Banana Republic.

He's been indicted for a state felony. The US government doesn't have jurisdiction to appoint a jury.

Despite Bush's words (and he's equivocating even now), his support for DeLay will disappear if he's actually convicted. Look at what happened with his first choice for the head of the Department of Homeland Security.

Date: 2005-09-28 07:28 pm (UTC)2. True, but problematic. A presidential pardon could be made, but it would look really bad -- not that BushCo has ever cared about doing things that look bad, only about telling people that they're actually good.
3. Not if BushCo gets brought down as well. I know it's a pipe dream, but there is more than enough evidence to not only impeach the entire administration but to send them to the Hague for war crimes, if only Congress would pay attention to its duty to the nation rather than to petty partisan "victories".
Doin my Victory Boogie

But for once there's a bit of Kharma
