Aardman Archive
Oct. 10th, 2005 04:54 pmIn case you hadn't heard, a warehouse filled with three decades of sets, storyboards, models, sketches, and other Aardman Animations history burned this morning.
Everyone's trying to keep a stiff upper lip -- Nick Park himself said "Even though it is a precious and nostalgic collection and valuable to the company, in light of other tragedies, today isn't a big deal."
But it is.
And I'm trying not to go over the losses in my head, because I will just break down and cry.
Nobody was hurt. That's the most important thing, always will be. And their animations are pretty much all on DVD. All that was lost is Stuff. I know it's only Stuff. I know.
But god dammit.

Date: 2005-10-10 09:18 pm (UTC)I remember I once went to a big Aardman film festival where they premiered A Close Shave. There was so much in the collection, I had no idea. It's so said hearing that most of what made all that is gone. Well, it could have been worse. Nick Park could have burned in a fire.
