[livejournal.com profile] dhstein has supplied the cover art for the new album. I may play with a couple of the background colors, but... Oh. Yeah.

I think I accidentally posted my comment on dhstein's site. What I suggested was putting your name in *really* big letters on the cover so that people who haven't followed the development of the album on your website/LJ will realize that it's one of yours.

I'm debating that very point with myself. On the one hand, yeah, I like covers with high visibility, and I think we've been doing that successfully, as well as not looking like "filk" albums. On the other hand, the temptation to do it very much in The Comics Mode is very appealing. Although I could put "Tom Smith Presents" or have the Plugged logo in the upper left....

My own opinion (for what it's worth) is that "So-and-So Presents" is associated (at least in publishing) with work-for-hire--for example a novel by someone else that takes place in Asimov's "Robot" setting or Tom Clancy's "Paranoid Universe." Or in musical terms, a compilation of other people's work, as in "Professor Vegematic Presents . . . 40 Songs About Cabbage, None of Them Written or Performed by Professor Vegematic." I think the Plugged logo is the better idea.
