Greets to all! And thanks again to everyone who voted for me in the Pegasus Awards. I am flattered, humbled, and very, very grateful.

Busy week ahead. I have to work on a commission rush job -- I might tell you about it later, it's pretty cool -- and help [livejournal.com profile] huskiebear move something large from Point A to Point B. No, not me, ya wags. Tomorrow, working on the other pending commission job, and possibly going in the evening with Anne to see Doom. Wednesday, laundry and other errands, and some serious cleaning. Thursday and Friday, big-time work on The Last Hero On Earth -- I think I can have the final mix done by the end of the weekend (pausing only to do a house concert in Grand Rapids). Once that's ready, it's Happy Dance And Pre-Order Time!

So how's your week shaping up?

I was really happy to see "Rocket Ride" win that award, Tom. I think it is a fine song that really shows our genre off at its best. I only wish there'd been an NPR reporter at OVFF.... :)

Hey, maybe that's what Interfilk can do with some of the $3300-something we raised from the auctions this weekend: fly or otherwise transport a reporter out to help promote filk!

I am leaving for Romania tomorrow to see the girl I hope to one day marry.

I will have Five Years on my ipod to keep me company on the long plane flight.

Congratulations! OVFF was wonderful, as usual, even though it did involve nearly as much car driving in three days than I had done since the start of August. (Note: The state of Illinois is under construction. Indiana and Ohio, too.)

My week is going to include more music practice. There's a filk at the Halloween party this weekend, a house filk the next weekend, then Windycon.

I resent the implication that the roads in Illinois that you drive on getting from Milwaukee to I-65 are the entire state.

Yes, I'm exaggerating. There is more to Illinois than toll plazas, interchanges, highway construction projects, and massive traffic backups. Although it did seem like that was it sometimes, during the many years I lived there. But there are things other than road construction. There is mall construction. Parking deck construction. Condominium construction. Indeed, right now my brother's first child is under construction, due to be born around Thanksgiving. Hopefully the house renovation will be mostly done by then. If not, Suzy is going to kill my brother.

Work, work, work, work, and work, then panic and host/organize a house concert in Grand Rapids. ;-)

So, Tom... What impressions can you do besides Peter Lorre?

Oh, and congrats!

Some accents, mostly European. Numerous actors and performers -- Jimmy Stewart, Alfred Hitchcock, Boris Karloff, Vincent Price if the wind's right, Bogie of course, Carson when I work at it, Louis Armstrong, Carol Channing, Leon Redbone. My John Wayne's been better. About three-quarters of the Muppets, all the Looney Tunes except for Granny and Witch Hazel, several Disney characters (but not Donald Duck). Ren & Stimpy. Pinky and The Brain. A few others along the way.

Congratulations!

Cosmic Trifle (me, Zander Nyrond and Valerie Housden) celebrated your win by singing two of your songs this weekend (to an audience of between one and five, though four of those were cats and the fifth is Zander's wife Janet!)

I'm impressed by your work ethic ... the CT album has been sitting on a hard disk, 90% complete for at least 18 months now and we *really* must get it finished sometime!

Good luck with the housefilk (or should that be "break a string"?!)

Kewl! Say hi to them for me, as well as to Chris Malme if he's still around.

The work ethic is problematic -- I'm sometimes a really lazy sot. But I don't have the damn mortgage job beating my brains out fifty hours a week anymore, and that loosens up a lot of time. (And tightens up a much smaller amount of income....) Just keep plugging away; the important part is not even so much how much work you put into it, but having a definable point where you can make yourself say "It's done" and let go of it, rather than keep it around for Just... One... More... Tweak....

And thanks... I think. ;)

first and foremost, congratulations and many hugs!
as for my week,so far it looks like i'll be continuing my pattern of enduring more abuse at work while earning brownie points for taking said abuse, all the while hoping and searaching for a full time theatrical gig so i can get the heck outta retail. i have a lead or two, long-term prospects, so i'm rather happy. i also found out i'll be an auntie again next summer, so i get to help plan another baby shower. i refuse to spawn myself, but when my friends produce podlings, i'm more than happy to play auntie. it's safer that way. does the world really need another me running around? i think not. :-)
it's a low-stress week, and i'm grateful for it. now if we can just hire cafe workers who actually show up to work, i'll be happy.

Working. Expecting the plumber tomorrow morning, and hoping very hard that he can fix whatever needs fixing before we absolutely have to go to work. Singing "Rocket Ride" and "Rich Fantasy Lives" a lot, mostly under my breath because at work. Grabbing a couple of hours a night online time. A normal week, in other words, though the songs vary from week to week...those are the ones in my head at the moment.

I missed it...

But it sounds like it was great. Rocket Ride is a fab song. Busy week getting the house put together for winter and I'm actually doing laundry right now. Just got a new ipod and moved all your stuff onto there too :)

This week? Recovering from the con (leaving for work in four hours, blech), watching Wallace and Gromit's Cracking Contraptions, awaiting delivery on an unMSTed VHS of 'Fugitive Alien' (all together now, o/` he triiiiiied to kill me with a forklift! o/` Ole!). Toying with a stray inspiration.

Oh, and answering LJ posts. :)

You fully deserved both awards - but it was especially great that you were there and we could all watch your reactions, over-reactions and big grins.

I got home too late to listen to your latest CD and am supposed to be catching up on work-related messages. I will treat myself with it while writing this afternoon.
