Okay, vital purchase: American Gothic is finally, finally out today. So is Season One of Tripping the Rift, which is not vital, but it's only $12.99.

I also noticed that Best Buy has several superb horror films for $7.99, including Poltergeist and Stephen King's It.

One other vital one: Looney Tunes Golden Collection, Volume 3.

Update: EXTRAORDINARY annoyance. The American Gothic episodes are OUT OF ORDER on the disks. The proper numbering is:

Disk One -- 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8
Disk Two -- 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 10, 9, 17
Disk Three -- 20, 21, 22, 5, 12, 18, 19

They're in order of air date rather than production/story sequence, is the problem.

When Tripping the Rift came out on Sci Fi, I was kinda floored... I had a download of an episode of that back in 2000, with Terry Farrell as the voice of Six. I may have it stashed somewhere still, but I doubt it. I don't suppose you know the origins of the series or anything, do you? I mean, were the creators trying all that time to sell the show?

I don't know that they were, although they might've been trying to sell a show. Got that download around here myself someplace....

The show was originally created and entered into a "Playboy" animation contest. It won. a few years later, Sci-Fi Channel offered them a contract to turn it into a full series.

I haven't gotten the American Gothic DVDs yet. Thanks for the heads-up about the episode ordering problem!! One of the reasons I wanted the DVDs (besides that it was a great program) is to see the episodes I missed and in the series in the correct order this time. Now I wonder if I did see them all but out of order as they were aired, hence my confusion sometimes what was going on in the series.
