Note: There have been some on the Right, including that insane scarecrow Michelle Malkin, who are actually trying to characterize these vigils as celebrations. Like so many other things that are lied about constantly by the Right Wing Noise Machine, it apparently has to be said out loud, again and again: We on the Left mourn our dead and honor the sacrifice our soldiers have made. Our problem is not with the soldiers, but with the monstrous, cowardly, imperial-minded psychopaths who sent them to a war we should never have started.

Considering that the wingnuts' vocabulary is infinitely mutable -- see, for example, the recent alterations made to "perjury" and its importance vis-a-vis cigars, blowjobs, and treason -- I can't say I'm either surprised or impressed by Michelle Malkin's inability to correctly use a word as large as "celebration".

Don't worry, I'm all set. If someone honestly has the nerve to accuse tonight's Vegas vigil of being a 'celebration', all I'll have to do is indicate the mourners which surround me and say;

"Of course it's a celebration. See how much FUN we're having?"
