Nothing to do with the topic of this post, but as Tom here tends to be a mecca for anything liberal, tolerant, sci-fi, and fantasy... I thought it may be a good place to drop the news that George Takei, aka Mr. Sulu of Star Trek fame, finally came out as gay!

I'm looking forward to the day when that is no longer news.

In the meantime, good on him.

I knew at least 15 years ago, so I don't think it's news now. Other than it's the first time he's talked to the mainstream press about it, I guess.

Well, yeah. I mean "$CELEBRITY is gay!" in general.

Hmm. I need a Trek icon.

Precisely why I didn't make a big deal about. I don't care who, if anyone, he's sleeping with. He's Sulu, fer gosh sakes.

Also, bluntly, it was all over LJ. No need for me to say a thing.

Where do I find more of their music? They are good! (More than the downloadable clips from their web page anyhow.)

(I already have passed word onto a couple of friends.)

My guess would be, you go to OVFF & stalk them there; a significant contingent is there most years.

That'd be a good guess. We're pretty stalkable.

There's also usually a few of us at the NorthEast Floating Filk Con, and a few other cons as well.

So I saw on the web page. I guess I will have to take a break from the art show at Philcon to catch a concert.. Now to just get an easy way to record....

Maybe if we both ask, really politely, they'll tell us when the cd is coming out? :)

Hmm. That is one good idea... another might be to just offer to use what equipment I own to help them get it recorded.... (I am almost finished with my first project from scratch for someone...) I am in the same area as a couple of the members... (NYC area.)

Hey, it's your masochism. ;)

If you plan on over-extending yourself anyway, I certainly won't kvetch about profiting from it. :)
