We're OFF!
Oct. 28th, 2005 03:57 pmEarlier this week? I lied.
Yeah, the American Gothic set is great. Indeed, I will have to get the Looney Tunes Golden Collection Vol. 3 soon. But that was not the winner of this week, ohhhh, nonononono.
I didn't even mention that I'd seen a two-disk re-re-release of The Wizard of Oz. Feh. I've got a good version with special features. Who needs it? Well, no one. I mean, it's got great special features, and a pristine new restoration, but if you've already got a version of the movie on DVD, you don't really need the two-disk set.
What I didn't know then was, there's also a three-disk special edition.
Oh my freakin' god.
It's at Amazon, it's on sale at Best Buy (possibly for only today), it might be at Target.
I'm not kidding. Besides the incredible restoration and the new surround mix (and the original audio track if you happen not to like the surround), besides the heaping gobs of new special features on Disk Two... Disk Three features no less than five earlier film version of Oz, including the cartoon from 1933 and the one with Oliver Hardy as the Tin Woodsman.
Get get get now now now go go go!
